[edit] Pre-show
Fancy is the daughter of Julian Crane and Ivy Winthrop, and has therefore lived a very privileged life. According to her mother, she was born with a silver spoon in her mouth, placed there by her paternal grandfather, Alistair.Fancy grew up close to alistair and he showered her with gifts, he seemed not nessasary to give to his other grandchildren.
Fancy grew up very close to her "grampy", and, as a result, was blind to his malevolent, vindictive side. Fancy actually unwittingly brought Alistair's wrath down on others several times, including one time as a child when another boy at the playground hurt her feelings. The young Fancy later cried to her grandfather about the boy's taunts, and Alistair, in turn, saw that the boy's parents lost their jobs, forcing the couple to leave Harmony with their son.
One Christmas, when Fancy was about ten, her parents forgot to send for her, leaving her all alone at boarding school. The precocious young girl called a limo to take her to the mansion, but, when she arrived, she was devastated to find that the family had gone away for the holidays - forgetting all about her. Severely depressed, the young Fancy was jubilant when older brother Ethan showed up, a large bag of presents slug over his shoulder for her. Fancy later cited this event as one of the reasons she decided to help Noah and Theresa care for a comatose Ethan in one of the Crane cottages in the mountains.
A wild and rebellious teen, Fancy's thirteenth birthday party was canceled five minutes before its designated start time after she and her sister Pretty Crane stole the caterer's van and drove it halfway to neighboring Castleton. She was also pulled over by future police chief Sam Bennett at least once for driving over the speed limit and without a license (Fancy was, at the time, not of the legal age to obtain a driver's license).[1]
Growing up, Fancy apparently had a sometimes competitive relationship with her sister, Pretty. According to their aunt Sheridan, Pretty brought a cute boy from their country club on the family's yacht one Labor Day, and Fancy, jealous, pretended to sprain her ankle, and the boy, therefore, spent much of the day tending to his date's "injured" sister. The two apparently began dating, but Fancy broke up with him a week after once she was sure she had stolen him from Pretty. (However, Fancy denied that the event had occurred as so, and given Sheridan's deteriorating mental condition, certain portions of the account may have been exaggerated.)
Sometime before 1999, Fancy departed Harmony for a prestigious school, either boarding or a university. She did eventually make it to college, but, according to Ivy, she has yet to complete her degree. Fancy later made her way to Italy with her sister sometime in 2004 or 2005, but the two ended up parting ways, her sister staying in Italy and Fancy heading for Las Vegas.
[edit] 2005
Fancy was first introduced in 2005 as a Paris Hilton-like character (she's even supposedly dated two of Paris's ex-boyfriends) vacationing in Las Vegas with her friend, Veronica, and her dog, Prestine (à la Tinkerbell). Fancy soon set her sights on a young man, Ned, who dismissed her, mistaking her for a prostitute. Fancy was furious, and an antagonistic relationship between the two was born.
One night in Vegas, Fancy was furious to discover that Ned had stolen her invitation to a high-class party in a ritzy hotel. Lucky for Fancy, an older guy managed to help her in to the party. However, this man soon made it clear that he expected payment for his services, and tried to rape Fancy. The young woman managed to escape, however, and ran in to none other than Ned.
The two twentysomethings ended up being chased around the hotel by hotel security due to the fact that Ned had been squatting at the hotel. During their game of hide-and-seek, Fancy and Ned wound up in a hotel room with a briefcase full of money - and a dead body on the floor. Upon closer inspection, the two discovered that it was the body of the man who had tried to rape Fancy! Spooked, the two took the money and somehow found their way out of the hotel. They then donated the money to a pair of nuns before bidding each other adieu and heading back home.
It was then revealed upon Fancy's return to Harmony that she was none other than one of Julian and Ivy's oft-mentioned-but-heretofore-never-seen daughters. Restless after her long flight and re-introduction to her long-missed family members, Fancy decided to check out the Harmony night life. She wound up at the club owned by a man named Spike, who coincidentally worked for Alistair. They talked for a while before Fancy headed for the ladies' room. When she came out, she was horrified to find the club on fire, and even more horrified to discover that Ned, who was also in Harmony, had set it! Thinking that he was trying to kill her, she locked herself in the bathroom; Ned eventually broke the door down and rescued her.
Outside of the burning club, Ned dropped a bombshell on Fancy - he was really Noah Bennett, the half-brother of Fancy's own half-brother, Ethan, and he lived in Harmony, too! He explained to Fancy that he'd burnt down Spike's club because Spike had been feeding drugs to his little sister, Jessica. Fancy had little time to digest this, however, because soon Spike was pointing a gun at the both of them, furious about the demise of his club! Spike ended up chasing the two around Harmony, and the three ended up at the wharf. During a fight between Spike and Noah, Fancy was accidentally pushed off the wharf and into a passing fishing trolley, and ended up being buried beneath pounds and pounds of fish!
Noah was forced to give up his assault on Spike in order to go after the fishing trolley, which was heading towards the Crane cannery. Once at the cannery, he pulled Fancy out of the fish goo and managed to resuscitate her. The two kissed, but Fancy then slapped Noah for being so "arrogant". She then made her way back to the Crane mansion, covered in fish goo.
Back at the mansion, Alistair was thrilled to discover that his favorite family member had returned to Harmony after six years away from home. After showering off, Fancy told Alistair all about Noah Bennett, and what a "horrible" person he was. Furious, Alistair declared war on the Bennett family, and had Noah's father, Sam, fired as police chief. Fancy heard of the news after having a discussion with her mother about Fancy's indirect destruction of other people's lives, and went to her grandfather, horrified, and asked him if she was the reason that Sam Bennett had been fired as chief of police. Alistair dismissed this, and told her that Sam was corrupt, and had needed to be fired for a long time.
Later, when Fancy was kidnapped by members of the Las Vegas mob outside the Blue Note, Noah chased after the girl who held a special place in his heart. They wound up together near the beach and were successfully able to escape the mob when Harmony was hit with an earthquake, and then a tsunami! Though Fancy's foot became ensnared in some seaweed, Noah was able to free her, and the two took refuge in a store selling various high-quality picnic items. They spent the night there, and, the next morning, they were able to break through the wall, and discovered that a department store was on the other side. In the department store, Noah and Fancy lived out some of their biggest dreams, including riding a motorcycle around the store, dressing up, and dancing together. For the first time, the two began to acknowledge that they had feelings for each other.
However, this was all dashed when Fancy went snooping in Noah's wallet and discovered a letter that another woman, later revealed to be Noah's ex-girlfriend, Maya Chinn, had written to him. In the letter, Maya reminded Noah that he'd always promised her that he'd never love another girl like he'd loved her. Fancy was devastated, and their dream day in the store came to a crashing halt.
The two eventually worked their way back to each other, though, and Noah decided to take Fancy out on a normal date. They went fishing before returning to the beach, where Fancy admitted that their date, while being nothing like she'd ever experienced before, was also the most fun she'd ever had on a date. The couple was about to have sex on the beach, but a couple of police officers caught them and told the pair that they'd have to find somewhere else to continue their romp.
On the Crane grounds, the two proceeded to fool around in the pool before finally heading to Sheridan's cottage to consummate their relationship. They were just in the throes of passion when Alistair, informed by a guard that Fancy had been seen heading into the cottage with a gentlemen, barged in, demanding to see his granddaughter. Noah wanted to let Alistair know that he and Fancy were a couple, but Fancy, fearing her grandfather's reaction, refused, and had Noah hide in Sheridan's bedroom while diverted Alistair's attention.
In Sheridan's living room, Alistair expressed his concern that his beloved granddaughter might fall for a "commoner", and Fancy, telling Alistair what he wanted to hear, replied that she could never fall in love with someone "beneath" her. Noah, hearing this, thought that Fancy had only pretended to love him to get him in bed, and left. When Fancy confronted him later at the Bennett home, he informed her that they were over.
Alistair, meanwhile, had big plans for his granddaughter. Alistair wanted a quick and easy merger with the company of an old friend of his, and to do so, Alistair wanted Fancy to marry this friend's son, Edmund Sinclair. Edmund ended up taking Fancy on a date to the Blue Note, where Noah had been recently hired as a bartender. Fancy was upset to find Noah there, and even more upset when she learned that Edmund and Noah were old friends. When Edmund began to ignore her in favor of talking to Noah, she left and returned to the Crane mansion.
Realizing that she'd left her sweater at the Blue Note, Fancy returned and headed to the storage room, believing it might be there. In the storage room, Fancy came across none other than Noah, who was looking for a rat. In the storage room, they realized that they were still in love with each other, and, once free, headed back to the beach. There, they made love again, blissfully unaware that Alistair was watching them. Alistair, furious at this perceived betrayal, had the police plant drugs and a gun in Noah's car, and he was arrested.
The next morning, Alistair confronted Fancy about her night with Noah. Fancy apologized to her grandfather for betraying his trust and begged him to punish her instead of the Bennetts, but refused, promising to lay waste to Noah. Fancy told Alistair that she thought she might love Noah, but Alistair, disgusted, forbade her from ever saying that - or ever seeing Noah - again.
Distraught, Fancy went to pay Noah's bail before telling him that they couldn't see each other ever again. However, they met once more at the park later that day, both ready to give the other up for good. Fancy told Noah that she didn't want Alistair to hurt him, and Noah replied that he didn't want Alistair to hurt her, either, or his family. They were ready to part ways when they both realized that they couldn't just give up the best thing that had ever happened to them, and decided to stay together, Alistair be damned.
Fancy then received a text message inviting her to dinner at the Seascape, and, assuming that it was from Sheridan, went to get ready with Noah. When she arrived at the restaurant, however, she discovered that Sheridan had received a message, too, and had thought that Fancy had invited her. When they realized that the entire Crane family, plus those of the Lopez-Fitzgeralds, Bennetts, and Russells were present, too, they began to wonder if Alistair had something to do with it.
As it turned out, he had - Alistair had invited all of his enemies to witness his marriage to Theresa Lopez-Fitzgerald. Once they were married, despite the protests of all present, he dropped another bombshell - he was adopting Theresa's son, Little Ethan (Fancy's half-brother by Julian), making him his heir, and cutting out all of his other family members out of his will! Fancy was horrified by the prospect of having only her trust fund to live off of, but when Noah pointed out that if she left him, Alistair would surely put her back in the will, Fancy softened, and told Noah that having him in her future was far more important than the Crane money.
Despite this declaration, Fancy had a difficult time adjusting to being "poor". When faced with the type of apartments that she and Noah could afford, Fancy went to a pawn shop and pawned her watch, using the money to buy lottery tickets. When the tickets yielded all of three dollars, Fancy devised a new plan. She went to her grandfather and exploited her position as the one person that Alistair cared about to get him to give Noah a job at Crane Industries. When Fancy told Noah of the job offer, he was furious, and the couple broke up.
Intent on getting his granddaughter's mind off of Noah, Alistair arranged for Fancy to head up a new division at Crane Industries - the style division. Though he personally found the area worthless, Alistair wanted to see his little girl happy again, and succeeded by helping her realize her dream of becoming a fashion designer.
Realizing that he still loved Fancy, Noah tried his best to win his love back, but Fancy, having misunderstood a comment Noah had made to a friend about all of the girls in Harmony being "big fat zeroes", spurned his attempts at making up. Fancy couldn't deny her attraction to Noah, however, when her friend Esmé came to town and set her sights on Noah! She eventually tricked Esmé into leaving town, and she and Noah reunited after talking out their problems and apologizing for all of the bad blood between them the past few days, and the couple eventually made a pact to not let anything come in the way of their relationship.
Soon after, however, Fancy began to suspect that Noah was cheating on her. So suspicious of her lover's activities, she followed him to one of her family's cabins in the mountains, where she discovered that Noah had not been cheating on her, but had helped Theresa kidnap their comatose half-brother, Ethan! Fancy was furious with Noah for his rash and thoughtless actions and ended their relationship. She was ready to report Noah and Theresa's misdeeds to the authorities, but a series of events, including dead phone lines, a blizzard, and slashed tires prevented her from contacting the outside world. Once the authorities finally arrived at the cottage, Fancy was overwhelmed by a memory in which Ethan helped her make it through a particularly terrible Christmas. Overwhelmed with emotion, Fancy eventually decided to cover for Noah and Theresa and helped the two care for Ethan.
Eventually, the three were arrested. Alistair eventually bailed out his wife and granddaughter, but refused to bail out Noah. Realizing that she still loved Noah, Fancy tricked the police department into allowing her to decorate the rec room and spend Christmas Eve with Noah. Noah was eventually released later that evening with the help of Fancy's disguised great-aunt Rachel.
On New Year's Eve, none of Harmony's citizens were as shocked as Alistair to find an invitation to a murder at the Crane mansion in the paper! Originally furious, Alistair decided to use the ad to his advantage and sent Fancy to invite the Bennetts to his party. They declined, and eventually convinced Fancy to attend their New Year's party. However, through a series of events, Fancy, along with the rest of Harmony, wound up at Alistair's murder party.
[edit] 2006
The New Year started out with a bang for Fancy when her beloved grandfather was stabbed in the neck. With Alistair out of commission, Crane Industries's stock was plummeting, and Julian asked all of his children to help out and try to call the buyers. After finishing her work, Fancy helped her brother, Fox, pick out an engagement ring for Kay - and wound up with marriage on the brain. Frustrated when Noah continuously dodged the question, Fancy poured her heart out to a girl at the Blue Note - unaware that the girl was none other than Noah's ex, Maya Chinn, and the author of the letter Noah carried in his wallet.
Later, after talking with Maya, Noah severely impaired his relationship with Fancy when he accidentally called out Maya's name while in bed. Fancy was understandably furious, and when she broke things off because of his dishonesty, he decided to come clean. However, after refusing to do an unknown organization's bidding, Maya was attacked down at the wharf, leaving Noah to come to her rescue. Fancy was shocked to discover that Noah's ex and the girl from the Blue Note were one and the same - and that Noah knew she was in town. She demanded once more that Noah tell her about their past, but after Maya told him that she had been attacked after witnessing an apparent murder several years ago - with Noah by her side - Noah, fearful for Fancy's life, refused to confess, and Fancy reiterated the dissolution of their relationship.
Miserable over losing each other, Fancy decided to take Noah back under one condition - that she tell him about his past with Maya. Noah agreed, and took her to a diner on Coast Road. There, Noah was just about to confess the truths of his sordid past when a car, presumably driven by an employee of the organization out to get Noah and Maya, crashed through the diner window, rendering Noah unconscious and pinning Fancy beneath it. Noah and the rescue team eventually freed the young woman, and she was rushed to the hospital.
At the hospital, the resident, Dr. Bryant, informed Noah that a great deal of glass had worked its way into Fancy's right eye], severely damaging the optic nerve and lacerating the cornea. In addition, there was such an extreme amount of glass embedded in the back of her eye that the doctor wasn't sure that it could be saved! After consulting with Eve, the two doctors decided to bring in an eye specialist to fully assess Fancy's situation.
Fancy was horrified and deeply frightened to learn the extent of the damage done to her eye. She begged Noah to come clean with her about his past with Maya, pointing out that it was their history which had led to the injury of her eye, but Noah, fearing for his girlfriend's safety, refused, and Fancy once again reiterated the dissolution of their relationship. However, after speaking with both her grandmother, Katherine, and great-aunt, Rachel, Fancy decided to trust Noah, and the two reunited.
This reunion ultimately proved to be short-lived, however, because Fancy, along with Noah's father, Sam, began to become increasingly worried about the young man's uncharacteristically jumpy behavior of late. Once Sam was reinstated as chief of police, Noah agreed to tell his father and girlfriend the truth about what had happened in his past so many years earlier - but only after consulting with Maya first. Noah and Maya never did make it back to Sam and Fancy, however; they were arrested by the FBI on charges of terrorism.
Sam and Fancy, meanwhile, anxiously searched for news of Noah's whereabouts. They finally discovered his car parked outside the Bennett household, and discovered Noah in his bed upstairs - with Maya. Noah crushed Fancy by explaining that she had been his "Everest", and that he'd thought of her as nothing more than a challenge, and she left the two brokenhearted. It was only after her departure that the audience learned that Noah's words had all been lies - he had made a deal with the FBI, promising to make the terrorists believe that he was with Maya in order to garner information for the FBI while simultaneously keeping Fancy safe from their destructive path.
Fancy received joyous news when Eve informed her that her eye had not been as badly damaged as originally believed, and she would be able to discontinue the use of her eyepatch. Though happy, Fancy found herself unable to truly enjoy her good fortune with thoughts of Noah's betrayal resting heavy on her mind. Eager to keep her mind off her philandering ex, she began busying herself with her work, concentrating especially hard on her new line of clothing, Crane Couture. Early in April, Fancy left Harmony for Rome, which she hoped would inspire her for more clothing designs - and help her forget about Noah. Unfortunately, Noah, too, showed up in Rome with Maya. While Fancy initially spent her time with her old friend Esme, who was also in Rome, and notorious gigolo Gianni Valentino to make Noah jealous, she eventually reunited with him after he looked her in the eyes and declared his love for her. However, when Fancy woke up later that night after sleeping with Noah, she found him at a club with Maya, and she swore him off once and for all.
However, while out with Gianni, she ran into Noah, and ended up descending into the catacombs with him when they heard a woman (Fancy's almost-stepsister, Whitney Russell) calling for help. Beneath the city, Noah and Fancy found her aunt Sheridan's ex-fiancé, Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald, and then-believed-to-be half-brother, Chad Harris, buried in rubble after a cave-in. There, Luis and Fancy shared a steamy kiss when he mistakenly believed that she was Sheridan, and, later, Luis carried Fancy from the collapsing tunnels after she was hit in the head with a rock. It was during this event that Fancy first developed a crush on Luis, though both remained oblivious to her feelings and became good friends.
When Theresa received an e-mail claiming that "someone from Harmony [would] die in Rome", Luis and Ethan feared that Fancy, who was the only one of the bunch in Rome who had not been seemingly lured there, might be a target, and Luis volunteered to be her bodyguard. Fancy made this task extraordinarily difficult, however, by frequently running off to clubs and visiting Roman ruins with her new friend, who, unbeknownst to her, was her demented half-aunt, Beth Wallace, who mistakenly believed that Luis and Fancy were lovers. Beth attempted to murder Fancy by locking Luis in the bathroom and smothering her with a pillow, but Fancy fought Beth off until Luis broke free and captured Beth. She escaped, however, when Fancy fainted, hitting her head on a table and bleeding profusely. Fancy blamed herself for her young cousin's kidnapper's escape, but Luis assured her he attributed no blame to her, and shared her bed that night in case Beth returned. Unfortunately, Noah walked in and saw the two, and assumed that they had had sex; he told Fancy that she disgusted him, and Luis later comforted her as she cried.
After her attack by Beth, Fancy vowed to help Luis find Marty, despite Luis's refusal. Knowing that Beth was somehow involved in the omega plot, Fancy had the Crane's press department announce that she would be at an art gallery that bore the omega symbol on its invitations, hoping to lure Beth there. At the gallery, after Spike's attempts to stab Fancy had failed, Beth poisoned Fancy's champagne, and again escaped when she told Luis what she had done. Though Fancy initially showed no signs of poisoning after Luis tackled her to the ground to prevent her from drinking the flute (and after she, upon awakening, kissed him, dazed), she later fainted, and Luis induced vomiting to save her. The two then went to the streets, where they saw Beth attempting to flee with Marty in a cab. Luis and Fancy commandeered a motorcycle and chased after the cab, which eventually crashed and burst into flames, killing Beth and Marty.
Around this time, Noah finally confided in Fancy his past - he had only pretended to be involved with Maya as part of an FBI sting to capture a terrorist, Lena, who had been working for Alistair in the omega plot. With Maya and Lena both dead, and his sister, Jessica, uncooperative, Fancy refused to believe Noah's story.
When Luis discovered that Alistair was not in a coma, but in fact alive and well in Rome, he set out to murder him, blaming him for Marty's death, and Fancy followed him to a mysterious church populated by blind monks. There, they, along with Noah and Chad, found Alistair, who was attempting to heat a chalice in a fire, an act which would make him a god on Earth. He was stopped, but he caused a cave-in, allowing him to escape. Luis and Fancy chased after him, and discovered him in an exact replica of his Harmony study in the catacombs with a very-much alive Beth. When Luis and Fancy attempted to take him to the police, Alistair's goons arrived in the piazza, and Luis, Ethan, Noah, Edna Wallace, and Norma Bates fought them off until Simone and Paloma arrived with an army of lesbians, who helped the group win. Yet again, however, Alistair escaped when he detonated a stink bomb, and he and Beth retrieved Marty and fled to some Roman ruins.
Luis and Fancy chased after Alistair, who unleashed hungry lions on the pair, forcing Fancy to realize just how evil he was. When Luis had to stop to save Fancy numerous times (including after a rock meant for Luis hit her in the head, and after a lion nearly killed her), Alistair, Beth, and Marty escaped in a car, and Luis and Fancy returned to the hotel to regroup. It was there that Beth called Luis in hopes that things might still work out between the two; Luis played along, and, with Interpol's help, discovered that Beth was on a train preparing to leave Rome.
Luis, Fancy, and Noah took an Interpol helicopter to chase after Marty, and were just about to capture the three when a drone plane appeared and fired missiles at a bridge, causing the train to crash in a ravine. Devastated by Alistair and Marty's deaths, Fancy returned to Harmony with Luis, Noah, Ethan, Gwen and Theresa on the Crane jet the next day.
Upon her return to Harmony, Fancy began to pursue a relationship with Luis after receiving Sheridan's blessing. Fancy went as far as to join the police cadet training program in order to be close to Luis, though she eventually came to love her new job and refused to quit when it was revealed that department policy forbade officers and cadets from fraternizing. Instead, she and Luis vowed to begin dating once she had graduated from the police academy.
While chasing down a suspect (Spike) that her cousin James claimed to have killed the Crane maid Phyllis, Spike abducted Fancy in an abandoned mineshaft, blindfolded her, and attempted to rape her. When Chris discovered what Spike was trying to do and attempted to stop him, Fancy escaped and tried to flee, but instead fell through some rotten floorboards and landed on a platform many feet down, which threatened to break at any moment. After the fall, however, Fancy remained unconscious, unable to save herself.
Luis, meanwhile, had been searching endlessly for her. When Sheridan saw the feverish way that Luis sought his missing girlfriend, she became striken with jealousy and put a sleeping pill in his drink, risking her own niece's life. Her plan backfired, however, because Luis and Fancy's souls managed to connect during his sleep, and Fancy was able to tell Luis where she was. When he woke, there was even dirt and blood on his jacket that had not been there before. As Luis rushed off to rescue Fancy, Sheridan was dismayed to realize that Luis shared a spiritual connection with someone other than herself.
Though Luis eventually found Fancy, the platform she was on broke, and he had to jump down, rope tied around her waist, to catch her mid-air. The rope eventually broke, however, and the two plunged to the bottom of the shaft. Seeing that she was dying, Luis built a fire and stripped in order to warm her with his body heat. While watching her die, he came to the realization that he loved her and told her so.
In the hospital after being rescued, Fancy feared that Luis's declaration of love might have only been made in an attempt to save her life. At Fox and Kay's wedding shower, however, Luis asked Fancy "who would have thought that I'd fall in love with a motormouth?", and the two declared their love for each other. After many attempts to consummate their relationship, the two evetually realized that they could not until Fancy had graduated from the police academy.
At work, Fancy was so determined to prove herself to Luis that she took the place of an officer who was to go undercover to catch a peeping tom. Fancy's back-up was Burt, an experienced officer, but the peeping tom saw and captured Burt, and threatened to kill him unless Fancy put down her gun. Fancy did so, and the masked man took Fancy into the bedroom of the decoy home, where he proceeded to rape her.
Luis eventually realized that Fancy had gone on the stakeout and arrived at the scene; after a struggle with the rapist, he escaped, and Luis was left with an unconscious, dying Fancy, whom he rushed to the hospital. There, Eve informed Luis and Fancy's frigtened parents, as well as Sheridan, that Fancy had fallen into a coma. Luis sat vigilant by her bed, and she eventually awoke as a Christmas miracle. Though emotionally devastated by her rape, Luis swore to stand by her side and help her through the difficult time.
At the same time, Sheridan was growing more and more enraged over Luis and Fancy's relationship. While Fancy was comatose, Sheridan visited her niece, telling her that she wasn't good enough for Luis, and that she would only cause him pain. Fancy was aware of Sheridan's words, however, and is now aware that her aunt is determined to destroy her relationship with Luis.
[edit] 2007
Early in January, Fancy's rapist repeatedly visited her room as she slept, hiding in her closet and coming out to terrorize her once everyone was gone. In one attack, Fancy ripped a button from the man's shirt, but Sheridan found it on the floor and took it and then convinced Luis that Fancy had dreamt the entire attack. Despite subsequent attempted attacks, Sheridan continued to succeed in convincing Luis that Fancy was imagining her attacks, even going as far as suggesting that her niece was faking them for attention.
Fancy was finally able to prove that her attacker had been returning, however, when he finally succeeded in raping her one night in her "Princess Room". Chad and Whitney, who had heard her screaming and burst into her room to find her asleep, but bruised, initiated a search with Chris and Sheridan for the attacker, and eventually found the masked man in the pantry in the Crane kitchen. When they unmasked the attacker, however, they found that it was actually an unconscious Luis, who was supposed to have been sleeping on Fancy's couch to protect her.
Sheridan, meanwhile, continued to torment Fancy, claiming that she had made up the entire attack to get Luis's attention. Fancy eventually agreed to undergo a rape kit to prove that she hadn't made up the attacks, and the kit came back positive. However, DNA analysis also showed that Luis had had sex with Fancy, and since the two had never consummated their relationship, he was arrested for Fancy's rape.
Hoping to prove his innocence, the two underwent hypnosis to try to remember the events of that night in Fancy's "Princess Room". While Luis was in his hypnotic state, he remembered being injected in the neck by Fancy's attacker, and seemingly recalled making love to Fancy, who was dressed in a cheerleader's uniform, while the attacker's face randomly replaced her own (in reality, Fancy's attacker had apparently given Luis a handjob, thus collecting his semen to plant in Fancy's vagina); both he and Fancy referred to the attacker as "she". The two remain baffled over this turn of events.
A break in the case seemed to be at hand when Simone's girlfriend, Rae, called Luis, claiming to have information about Fancy's attacker. However, by the time Luis and Fancy arrived at the Blue Note, the attacker had murdered Rae and framed Luis for the deed. Though Paloma and Noah had captured a man dressed as Fancy's attacker minutes later, it was later proven that he had been in the Salem County jail both times that Fancy was raped, meaning that Luis was still the prime suspect for Fancy's rape and Rae's murder.
