Fanad United Football Club is a football club currently playing in the Irish Ulster Senior League. The club was founded in 1975 in Fanad, Co. Donegal and are one of the founding members of the league. The teams success in the Irish Ulster Senior League is unrivalled, with 11 trophies to their name. Fanad have also won the FAI Intermediate Cup on two occasions, 1988 and 1995. The high point of their successes was perhaps in 1986, in their victory over League of Ireland giants, Derry City F.C., then managed by Noel King. They went on to reach the semi finals of the League Cup that season losing to the then all conquering Shamrocks Rovers. Fanad play their home games at Tragh-a-Lough. Club colours are red and black.
