Talk:Family tree of the Phantom

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wow. This article is a work of extreme engineering using the familytree template... but it's 0.5MB in size. 0.5MB! For a text based page! illspirit|talk 09:13, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

I moved the tree from The Phantom article. It is not finished yet; several people are missing at the end of the tree. KIT WALKER

The ideal maximum size for a page is 32kb. At nearly 500 kb, This is too big. This is too large to be kept, so an ideal tactic would be to change it to a low-pixel picture using Paint or make it into a worded paragraph. J.J.Sagnella 22:44, 19 August 2006 (UTC)
I second that. KIT WALKER
Tip: make a screenshot, or make several screenshots and piece them together, and save it as a gif. One question, though: couldn't such a picture be incorporated back into the article the family tree came from? :p --R. Wolff 09:48, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

Maybe an idea could be to create an image from the current page and then move the source to something like Family tree of the Phantom/source, so the work of the author isn't lost, and subsequent changes (if there are any) can easily be added. -- drrngrvy tlk @ 15:53, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] errors with the family tree

As an avid reader of the phantom i would like to point out that juliet adams was the wife of the 5th phantom and not the 15th as shown in the tree.Vhatta khan is the wife of the 9th phantom and the 7th phantom marries the queen of navvare , natala.i happen to have read the particular issues which have these stories. thanking you, rupkamal sarma, india

Which comics are your sources? I think Lee Falk often did contradictory stories, so the Swedish "Team Fantomen" usually chose the story they liked most, and made it canonical... 惑乱 分からん 12:06, 26 September 2006 (UTC)
I agree that this family tree does take most of it's information from the Swedish Phantom comic books: Here is a partial family tree list with the information that Lee Falk gave in his stories. Sometimes he contradicted himself, yes, but in the case of Juliet Adams the Swedish editors simply changed the numbers (for whatever reason). Same goes for Vhatta Khan (married the 9th in a Lee Falk story, married the 13th in the translated Swedish version). It would perhaps be good with two separate family trees (one Falk, one Team Fantomen). AEriksson 09:07, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
