While Quicksilver is at his base, he receives an emergency call from his sister, Scarlet Witch. Both of them meet up in a hospital, where their foster father is in his death bed. Their foster father tells them that he is not their real father, and that their mother is also a foster parent. A flashback happens to when Lady Bova arrives with two children, in which they took to care.

Both of them run to the mountain where Lady Bova and High Evolutionary lives, and Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch discovers that she took their mother in when a mutant had destroyed a village. Their mid-wife tells them that the mutant who destroyed the village was Magneto. Because of their mother's weak state, she didn't survive the next winter. Both Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are angered and they find Magneto, at the grave where he goes once a year.

Magneto is at the grave when he finds his wife there. It turns out to be a trap, when Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch attack. In the confrontation, he is tied up and put up in a tree. For some strange reason, the lackeys that were sent to help them turn on them and tie them up too. Wolverine, who was sent to keep an eye on Magneto attacks the lackeys and Magneto breaks free of the rope. They are then all gased and taken away.

Back at the mansion, Professor X questions why both Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch would attack Magneto, because Magneto is much more powerful than those two combined.

At the mountain, High Evolutionary is talking about genetics, where he can use Scarlet Witch to increase the probability of success and Quicksilver for his speed in speeding up the process. But he uses Magneto's DNA as well, because of his strength in his mutant powers. This is where Magneto, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch discover that they are all related. High Evolutionary demonstrates his power, by bringing Wolverine in to a tube connected to a machine. The tube fills with a liquid and he turns in to a werewolf. High Evolutionary is alerted when the Blackbird arrives, but they are not here to fight.

Magneto breaks free and also frees Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. Beast and Professor X are being attacked when the three retaliate. High Evolutionary escapes, and the world transforms itself back to normal, to which he created a fake environment. In the end, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch go back home on bad terms with Magneto.
