Hello, the picture of Salma Hayek was taken at the Cannes Film Festival by my husband Philippe Baledent. Please let me know what should I do so that the picture is not removed. Thanks, Biosstars

[edit] Jon Heder and Steve Burns

Are the premature death reports of Steve Burns and Jon Heder notable enough to list here?--Fallout boy 04:39, 21 January 2006 (UTC)

No, because they appear to be mere rumors (i.e. not reported as fact by the media), which aren't allowed on the premature obituaries list. Ben Finn 21:22, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Susan Lucci

Susan Lucci appeared on the Jane Pauley show in 2005, and for the first time she publicly revealed her age, stating that she would be turning fifty-nine years old on her next birthday (which was in December of 2005). Susan has also stated for years that she was twenty-three years old when she landed the role of Erica Kane on AMC, which is how many people originally calculated her age (1970-23), forgetting that Lucci turned 23 in December, and AMC aired only days after her birthday. There was no way she could have landed a role after December 23, 1969, for a show that premiered on January 5, 1970.

[edit] Re: Diane Keaton

It looks really good, well done! Just a few issues that shouldn't be too hard to fix. Often there is a quote from a critic but there is no mention of which critic or publication it is from. On a related note, I noticed that the word "described" was used several times (though believe me, I know how hard it is to try and write things like that without ending up repeating myself). Also, I think that the poor reception of the film Town & Country deserves a mention as it is one of the biggest commercial failures of all time, which is one of the reasons why Something's Gotta Give was heralded as such a big comeback for her. Anyway, nice work! I suggest taking it to peer review, and then WP:FAC. Extraordinary Machine 22:42, 3 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Minor edits

Hello- regarding your edit to the Angelina Jolie article, I'm not sure your edit was minor enough to be considered minor under the guidelines suggested by the Wikipedia minor edit policy.

"The rule of thumb is that an edit which is confined to spelling corrections, minor formatting, and minor rearrangement of text should be flagged as a "minor edit." A major edit is basically anything that will make the modified article worth looking at again, by anyone who wants to watch the article closely for anything which could change its meaning. Any "real" change, even if it is a single word, is a major edit."

It's a good edit, though. Keep up the good work. - Eric 02:31, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Bush Razzie

See Talk:George W. Bush#Worst Actor Razzie. I'm not trying to stir up an edit war but it seems non-notable in the context of this article. It also seems a bit POV to include it. Cheers. --Scaife (Talk) Don't forget Hanlon's Razor 03:51, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Pete Doherty Picture

You recently removed a picture from the Pete Doherty article. I realised that the CC license it was under is not normally permitted on wikipedia, however the photographer himself allows all his photos to be used on wikipedia as I stated on the image's info page. Please see: http://www.andrewkendall.com/pages/misc/pictureusage.php If I tagged the image incorrectly I apologise. Would there be a better tag to use? Super Ted 15:00, 24 March 2006 (UTC)

Cheers for prompt reply. Cheers for emailing him, I'm fairly new here so very confused by all the licensing issues! Someone has added an image to various former Libs including Pete Doherty, Carl Barat and Gary Powell and also Dirty Pretty Things (band). I'm not convinced these images are licensed either. What do you think? Also, where would be a good place to look for free alternatives? I'm having quite a lot of trouble! Super Ted 10:10, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
Cheers mate, all help is appreciated. Would you mind letting me know what Andrew Kendall says about his photos because he has a lot of high quality photos for lots of other bands (he's an NME photographer), and I'd rather make sure images were OK to use before adding them to articles. Also, could we not lower the resolution of the images and categorise as Template:Magazinecover?Super Ted 11:09, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

Hi, thanks for letting me know about the Pete Doherty picture. It was my first picture upload. I'll fix it.OneVeryBadMan 23:29, 2 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Ashley_Tisdale_Promo.jpg

Hi, you removed the {{promophoto}} tag from Image:Ashley_Tisdale_Promo.jpg, and replaced it with a tag for no license. The promophoto tag is there for an explination of fair use, which it does qualify for under US Copyright laws. If you feel that it doesn't, could you please let me know why on my talk page. Hi, I'd like to invite you to get involved in establishing consensus in discussions concerning naming conventions for social nudity topics.

Please join in this community discussion regarding the name of Portal:Clothes free.

Participate here: Portal_talk:Clothes_free#Votes

Please also join in the discussion about what to name an article dealing with social nudity. I believe the the latter term is a better term to use than naturism or nudism as it is more WP:NPOV and is in use currently. Formerly the article was titled Clothes free movement.

Hmm... well I saw the article (I was the one who added it as a reference) but still... He could have skipped a grade/started early or something along those lines... I'm not sure if we should just assume a date based on other details, it's very original research-y. Mad Jack 02:35, 11 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Kennedymtvcap.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Kennedymtvcap.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Abu Badali 02:21, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Efren Ramirez

I noticed you were the one who corrected his birth date to 1973. Someone has since changed it to 1983, citing MSNBC (who no doubt made the usual mistake) as a source. Would you mind going to the page and changing the date back to 1973? I'd do it myself, but I'm just not in a mood to engage in potential debate/discussion with the person who changed it to 1983. Thanks, and cheers, Mad Jack 05:47, 10 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:UNDEFINED-0.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:UNDEFINED-0.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Edit war? What edit war?

I'm curious about why you put the Anne Coulter age controversy on the "lamest edit wars" page, back in August of 2005[1]. Granted, the controversy about her age was a bit lame, and her lying about it was even lamer, but I couldn't find any trace of a Wikipedia edit-war about it. As far as I could see, her birth-year was righted without fuss in May '05[2], and that edit stood, unchallenged, until (by odd coincidence) just yesterday. Did I overlook something? I was hoping to see some dandy fireworks.

(By the way, I set the date right again, and included the reference. I hope that doesn't begin and edit-war.) -- Lonewolf BC 07:28, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Batman Begins

Some time ago, you voted against the nomination of Batman Begins as a Featured Article. The article has come a long way since, and I was wondering if you could take the time to share any suggestions you might have, either on my user talk page or the film article's own talk page. I do not believe that the article is yet ready for another FA nomination as I have improvements in mind. I hope that you will be able to share any insights you might have to help improve the article. --Erik (talk/contrib) @ 01:29, 8 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Untagged image

An image you uploaded, Image:GWHS LOGO.gif, was tagged with the {{coatofarms}} copyright tag. This tag was deleted because it does not actually specify the copyright status of the image. The image may need a more accurate copyright tag, or it may need to be deleted. If the image portrays a seal or emblem, it should be tagged as {{seal}}. If you have any questions, ask them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. -- 15:14, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] A request for assistance

Would you support the concept of moving the Earhart "myths" to a separate page or article? The reason for my suggesting this is that the main article should be an accurate and scholarly work while the speculation and conspiracy theories surrounding the disappearance of Amelia Earhart are interesting, they belong in a unique section. Most researchers, as you know, discount the many theories and speculation that has arisen in the years following her last flight. Go onto the Earhart discussion page and register your vote/comments...and a Happy New Year to you as well. Bzuk 05:02 3 January 2007 (UTC).

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Dd2 01.gif

Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Dd2 01.gif. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. When you use a generic fair use tag such as {{fair use}} or {{fair use in|article name}}, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- moe.RON Let's talk | done 20:00, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Dannii Minogue article

Hello. I enjoyed readings your FA articles on Uma Thurman and Diane Keaton and was wondering if you could look over the article on Australian singer-actress Dannii Minogue for me. I've had a few editors read it over once or twice before, but the more eyes the better. Thank you so much. -- Underneath-it-All 21:13, 21 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Jaymamaysredeye.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Jaymamaysredeye.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] Unspecified source for Image:Grahamg.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Grahamg.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Thanks for uploading Image:Movie_star_trek_valleris.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use.
