[edit] Summary
Government agents arrive at the school, and they're looking for Jeremie. When they end up tracking Jeremie to the factory, Xana possesses them for an attack on the supercomputer itself.
[edit] Recap
In Odd and Ulrich's room, a beeping noise wakes them up. Odd gets up to check on it, while Ulrich complains about the lack of sleep due to the noise (the noise has roused him from his dream). The beeping turns out to be Odd's Tamagotchi toy, which he has named Jean-Pierre after the principal. Ulrich complains about it but Odd ignores him, silencing the toy and leaving it by his bed. Meanwhile, in Jeremie's room, his computer lights up and some files designated by locks appear on the screen.
By morning, Odd's Tamagotchi is gone, which Odd blames Ulrich for. He denies it, so Odd assumes someone kidnapped it. Ulrich is apathetic about the situation, suggesting that they get breakfast.
Elsewhere, two government agents, one caucasian and the other of African descent, arrive and accuse the principal of taking interest in non-enriched uranium.
In the cafeteria, Odd has little luck convincing either Jeremie or Ulrich to help him find "Jean-Pierre". The two merely makes jokes at his expense. Storming out, Odd runs into Sissi, who also teases him about the virtual pet. Odd just brushes her off with a threatening remark and walks off. Sissi comments that he must have woken up on the "long" side of the bed. Hervé corrects her with the proper phrase.
In the principal's office, the two agents identify themselves as belonging to a division of the Secret Service so secret that neither the president nor they know who they really are. They then accuse the principal of hacking into the computer system of a large weapons manufacturer and reading classifed documents on long-range bombers and anthrax. The hacking was traced back to the school, and the principal identifies the phone line used as Jeremie's
In Jeremie's room, the two agents note that, despite Jeremie's rather sophisticated computer setup, he'd need a much more powerful computer to have performed the hacking they're investgating. In fact, the parts required are something no one could possibly buy on the open market. The two assume he's working for terrorists, and decide to bug his room in order to learn more. The principal can't believe it's true, but ensures his total cooperation. Jim barges in to offer his help, noting that he was once a member of the Secret Service, but would rather not talk about it. The two let him help, saying that they might take him off the suspect list for doing so.
In the quad, Jeremie has become somewhat more helpful in regards to searching for Odd's Tamagotchi, offering to search his room for clues. As they head to Odd's room, Jim knocks on the boiler room door. One of the agents asks for a password, and Jim answers with "bird brain". Having set up cameras and microphones in both Jeremie's room and his friends' room, the agents can now watch them. The agent monitoring the cameras notes the poor job Jim did, remarking that it was a good thing Jim was never a professional cameraman. Ironically, Jim actually was a professional cameraman at one point. As they watch the cameras, Odd accidentally reveals Kiwi on the principal's monitor while searching his room. After further observation, the agents catch part of Jeremie's conversation with Odd about the Tamagotchi. Jeremie refers to it by Odd's name for it, Jean-Pierre, and sarcastically notes that if they don't find "him" in eight hours it's the end of the world. The sarcasm is lost on the agents, as is the actual meaning of Jeremie's statement. The African agent accuses the principal once more, but his partner tells him to drop it. He then asks Jim to plant a tracer on Jeremie.
While the group searches the bathroom for Odd's Tamagotchi, Jim finds them and forces them to leave. Jeremie is the last one out, and Jim slaps the tracer on Jeremie's backpack once he's past the door. When Jeremie questions Jim on the slap, Jim blames it on mosquitoes. Ignoring it, Jeremie walks on. Odd comments that his Tamagotchi is probably starving to death. Ulrich teases him about it, saying that it must blame Odd for its misery even though it doesn't have any emotions. Jeremie's computer interrupts them, beeping to indicate that Xana is attacking. As they head for the sewer, Jim uses a microphone on his cuff to inform the agents, using various allusions to refer to the situation. The agents berate him for making no sense, so he describes it normally.
In the park, Jim watches Jeremie and his friends enter the sewer. He informs the agents through his microphone, only to find out that they're standing right behind him.
At the factory, Jeremie sends his friends to Lyoko and informs them of the location of the tower. As they make their way to the tower, the agents and Jim make their way to the Factory. Jim and the agents arrive at about the same time that the group reaches the tower. It turns out that the tower is inactive. Jeremie guesses that Xana messed with the superscan program to lure them to the factory. He's not sure why, and decides to bring his friends back to Earth. The agents, exiting the elevator, stop him from doing so. They try to question Jeremie, but he says nothing. The caucasian agent takes Jeremie away while his partner and Jim stay behind to explore. The agent fiddles with the keyboard after his partner departs, causing Odd's Overboard to disappear beneath him. After continued fiddling, the Overboard reappears directly over Odd's head, causing him to bump into it. After they realize something is wrong, Ulrich has Odd devirtualize him to check on Jeremie. In the scanner room, Ulrich exits the scanner to find Jim staring him down. Apologizing in advance, Ulrich kicks Jim in the face and runs towards the ladder. The agent is still in the lab, so Ulrich is forced to take a different route out.
In the boiler room, the other agent and the principal continue to question Jeremie. He denies any wrongdoing, but his situation isn't helped when Ulrich calls. Yelling towards the phone, Jeremie tells Ulrich that Xana is responsible and tells him to bring everyone back home. The mention of Xana only gives the agent further questions. Jeremie tries to convince the agent to trust him, but is interrupted by his computer. The computer indicates another Xana attack, though the agent doesn't understand its meaning. One of Xana's ghosts flies from a nearby wall and possesses him. Now possessed, the agent tries to attack Jeremie. The principal holds him back long enough for Jeremie to get out of the way, but is electrocuted and tossed into a wall as a reward.
At the factory, Ulrich has made his way above the other agent and is preparing to knock him out with a pipe. He can't carry this plan out, however, as the agent is possessed by Xana. Jim arrives after the fact to report on Ulrich. The agent says nothing and enters the elevator with Jim. In the scanner room, the agent begins unplugging the scanners. Jim objects despite not knowing what the scanners are, but the agent just electrocutes him and continues.
In the lab, Ulrich contacts his friends and informs them of the situation. Since Ulrich is unclear on how the supercomputer works, Aelita helps him run the superscan to locate the activated tower, which is in the Mountain sector. Once he locates it and they begin heading for the passage tower, electricity begins radiating from the floor.
On Lyoko, bits and pieces of the terrain begin disappearing. Using the cameras in the factory, Ulrich traces the cause of this to the supercomputer, which the possessed agent is firing electricity at. (A small error occurs in this scene. The caucasian agent is shown electrocuting the supercomputer, even though he is chasing Jeremie at this point.) What's worse, Ulrich finds out that the scanners are offline. Ulrich can't repair them, so the only hope is to shut down the tower. Back at the school, Jeremie manages to escape the possessed agent.
On Lyoko, the group makes their way to the activated tower. With the agent still pouring electricity into the supercomputer, portions of the environment are still randomly disappearing. One such random disappearance nearly drops Aelita into the digital sea, but Yumi catches her. Upon arriving at the tower, their vehicles disappear, leaving the three warroirs facing three Megatanks with no advantage.
In the supercomputer room, Ulrich manages to turn the agent's attention away from the supercomputer, but can do little else. At the same time, Jeremie is still fleeing the other agent.
On Lyoko, the group begins their battle against the three Megatanks. The Megatanks are smart with their attacks, timing their shots in such a way as to deflect their opponents' attacks. Only Aelita proves to be a match for their powerful elliptical lasers, shattering one of their shots with two well-placed energy field attacks. One of the Megatanks attempts to flatten Yumi after blocking her attack, but Aelita creates a ramp beneath it via her creativity, sending it plummeting into the digital sea. The act of doing so tires her considerably. Odd, meanwhile, keeps trying to destroy one of the other Megatanks, which just retreats into its casing each time he fires. After Odd accuses it of not playing fair, it attempts to run him over. Odd tricks the Megatank into running into its companion, deflecting a blast meant for Aelita.
On the factory floor, Ulrich meets up with Jeremie and the agent pursuing him. The agent that was in the supercomputer room also arrives, actually digging his way through the floor. As the two advance on Jeremie and Ulrich, Jim tries to restrain them, but is once again electrocuted and tossed away.
Recovering, Aelita and Yumi face off against the two Megatanks, dodging blast after blast. Aelita creates a shield with her energy field attack to block a final shot by one of the Megatanks, but can't hold her ground against the force of the attack. Odd draws the other one away, leading it off of a cliff. Odd uses his claws to cling to the side of the ledge. Just before it falls into the Digital Sea, the Megatank fires a blast to sever the ledge Odd is hanging from. Yumi manages to catch Odd with her telekinetic ability just before he falls into the sea along with the Megatank. Once he's brought back to solid ground, he attacks the Megatank attacking Aelita, forcing it to close to protect itself. This gives Aelita the opportunity needed to get to the tower. In a last ditch attempt to devirtualize its foes, the Megatank rolls onto its side and fires, creating an almost unavoidable 360 degree attack. Unfortunately for it, Aelita makes it to the tower well before it can reach her. Yumi jumps over the beam and hits the Meagtank with her fans, destroying it and canceling out the attack as she falls. Aelita then deactivates the tower.
In the lab, Jim is still at a loss as to what all the equipment does. Jeremie ignores him and prepares to activate a return trip, hoping the damage to the supercomputer won't prevent it from activating. It works just fine, despite the damage, and everything that happened is undone.
Now one day earlier, Odd's Tamagotchi is stolen once again. He thought ahead in this instance, however, and set up a camera to catch the thief. It turns that not only did Ulrich steal it, but all his friends helped. They were worried about Odd's obsession with the toy, so Yumi gave it to her brother, Hiroki. She insists that it's in good hands. A transition to Hiroki shows that this isn't the case. He manages to kill the digital pet in the short span of time he's had it, then throws the toy into the street to be hit by a car.
[edit] Memorable Quotes
- Odd shoots a laser arrow at a Megatank and it closes
- Odd: Hey, ever heard of fair play?
- Agent1: The President himself has no idea that we exist.
- Agent2: Even we have no idea who we really are.
[edit] Cinematic Notes
- When the Megatank fires its laser horizontally, the laser wall never reaches the tower.
- When Ulrich utilizes his Silat skills and kicks Jim while in the Scanner, traditional Japanese music plays.
- When the Megatanks appear, the first one fires its attack without charging up.
- When Yumi destroys the last Megtank, the scene switches to Odd who looks as though he is riding his Overboard, despite having lost it prior to the battle.
- When Ulrich sees who is attacking the supercomputer on the camera, it is clearly the man with the borwn hair. However, the next shot shows that that very same man is chasing Jeremie through the woods. The bald man is next shown to be attacking the supercomputer.
