Growing up on the bayou, Hunter learned about crabbing, fishing, and survival skills, all of which, along with horses and dogs, interested her more than more traditionally-female skills. She loves history, ancient writings, and literature, including fantasy and science fiction. With the encouragement of her teachers, she began writing during high school.
