Fairfield, Utah

Fairfield, Utah, which was initially called Frogtown, is a city located in Utah County, Utah. It is located in the southwest corner of Cedar Valley about fifty miles southwest of Salt Lake City. Fairfield was home to Camp Floyd, which is now a state park. During the period preceding the United States Civil War, Camp Floyd was home to a large garrison of military personnel. As the Civil War approached the U.S. soldiers were moved east to battle the Confederate forces. Stagecoach Inn, now a museum, located in Fairfield was used by travelers passing through via stage coach, military personnel, and riders on the Pony Express.

Fairfield incorporated in 2004 due to concerns about growth from surrounding communities. Besides agriculture, the town is a destination for tourists of Camp Floyd State Park, and home to a large construction landfill.
