Fairdale High School is a part of the Jefferson County Public Schools system. It is one of the District's Magnet Career Schools for Public Safety Technology. Through the magnet, students may concentrate in Law Enforcement, Fire and Emergency technology, Medical Office Technology, and Radio Electronic Communications. Students shadow Public Safety Professionals throughout the program and have the opportunity for internships in their chosen fields.

The principal is Linda Brown. She has lead the school in various capacities over the years prior to becoming principal.
