[edit] Plot Summary

The roof the Lawndale High school library falls through, but Ms. Li has (secretly) spent the money for roof repairs on a polygraph machine. In order to raise money for the repairs, Ms. Li decides to organize a medieval fair. Attendance is mandatory, or those who don't attend face suspension. Daria is forced to go by her parents, but she manages to trick them into going as well.

Quinn decides to try out for the fair's play of The Canterbury Tales. Sandi, in an attempt to one up Quinn, decides to try out as well for the lead role of Emily. Quinn gets the part of Emily, and Kevin gets the part of Palamon, much to Brittany's chargin.

The day of the fair, Brittany offers to drive Kevin to the fair so he can practice his lines on the way there. But in reality, she is really driving him as far away from the school, and Lawndale, as possible. Each time Kevin notices that they are too for away from the school, Brittany replies "Are you sure?" This leaves Kevin dumbfounded, since he doesn't really know how long it takes to get to school.

Everyone at the fair has a different job. Jodie is working at the Information Booth, Mr. DeMartino is the Black Knight at the jousting arena, Ms. Barch is a fortune teller (Girls $2.00, Boys $20.00), and Mack is dressed up as a dragon. Daria and Jane, on the other hand, aren't have such a good time and get stuck at the top of a ferris wheel with Stacy who's crying about a boy who won't return her calls.

At the play, with Kevin in Brittany's clutches, Mr. O'Neill is forced to replace him with Jeffey. On stage, he reads from the wrong lines and ruins the play. Quinn is heckled off stage and Jake starts a food fight in the audience.

Outside, Daria and Jane take over the Information Booth for Jodie, who goes to see what the commotion in the auditorium is. The episode ends with Daria and Jane telling kids what life was really like in the Middle Ages.
