Fagernes

Fagernes is the largest town in the valley of Valdres, Norway, with a population of around 1,800. Fagernes is the administrative centre of the municipality of Nord-Aurdal.

Fagernes lies approximately 3 hours north west of Oslo, and is an important destination for tourism in Norway, due to good communications and beautiful nature in the surrounding Valdres valley and mountain areas, such as Jotunheimen.

The local airport is Fagernes Airport, Leirin.
