Fabrizio Moretti (nicknamed Fab) is the drummer in the American band The Strokes.

He was born on 2 June 1980 in Rio de Janeiro, to an Italian father and a Brazilian mother. [1] Fabrizio has a brother. He was raised Christian, but has stated that he is an atheist[citation needed].

  • Fabrizio dated Drew Barrymore from 2002 until January 2007, after they met backstage during a Strokes concert. Rumors of engagement arose several times, but the wedding never happened. In an interview, Moretti once stated that he believes "...marriage is not anything that will secure the future of your relationship,” and therefore never plans on getting married.
  • He is the co-founder and chairman of the Judi foundation, "a Public Non Profit Corporation whose mission is to raise money to finance research for finding a cure for juvenile diabetes, with particular focus on an instance of the disease known as Latent Autoimmune Diabetes in Adults (LADA)".
  • Despite living in New York City since a tender age, Fabrizio speaks Portuguese quite well and has done some interviews on Brazilian TV.
  • A trademark of Moretti's is his vintage Coca Cola shirts. Another is the use of Ahead drum sticks.
  • He is probably the heaviest smoker of the band.
  • He has played the drums since age 5.
