Unlucky number thirteen: On 19 March 1940 Lt. John Smith "Jimmy" Thach tipped this Brewster F2A-1 Buffalo (Bureau Number 1393) onto its nose on the Saratoga's deck. Ensign Edward Butch O'Hare also flew this aircraft several times during the summer and fall of 1940.
