[edit] Usage

This template is a formatted infobox, designed for the top of every Formula One Race Report. Usage is mostly straight forward, with the following code from the 2003 United States Grand Prix as example.

Notes:

 • Grand Prix should be just country name, to future proof the template (in the case that we wish to link the GP)
 • For the case of a non-standard named GP, use the variable GP_Suffix, example: GP_Suffix = East| (Only current use is for USGP East and USGP West, is OK to not call if not applicable.)
 • Year is called multiple times, so it should remain seperate from Date.
 • Race_No is the number of the race in the season (for example, the 2003 USGP was the 15th race of the 2003 season)
 • Season_No is the number of races in the season (the 2003 season had 16 races)
 • Fast refers to Fastest Lap, with Fast_Lap denoting the actual lap occured.

[edit] US Grand Prix Flagicon

After I added the flagicon setting, I didn't realise that there were over 50 Grand Prixs (US ones) which included them. Please help fix them! --Thelb4 20:15, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

Fixed template to use X_Country for flagicons, if the variable has been declared. If they have not, then they are not used. (presumably allowing the hard-coded flagicons to be used)-slowpokeiv 15:33, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Track layouts

It's commonplace in the summary of F1 races to provide an overview of the track. As wikipedia has such overview images already uploaded, for example...

...would it not be a good idea (and aesthetically pleasing!) to add an image section to the top of the template for this purpose? Crimsone 01:45, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
