Famicom Grand Prix: F-1 Race is a racing game from the Nintendo Famicom Disk System, only available in Japan. The game involves Formula 1 Cars and is a top-down racing game. The player can either choose to play alone, or with other cars. The cars have a certain amount of health and fuel, which can decrease if the player crashes into a wall, crashes into another car, or drives off the road. Health and fuel can be regenerated if the player takes a pit-stop, but doing so takes away racing time. Winning the Grand Prix earns you money, which can be used to unlock new cars.
A sequel of this game was produced only in Japan, known as Famicom Grand Prix II: 3D Hot Rally. The sequel is completely different from the original, other than the fact that both are racing games.

[edit] Trivia
This game was also used for a contest held in Japan. High scorers won a special Super Mario Bros. Game & Watch sealed in a case shaped like Nintendo's Famicom Disk System mascot, Diskun (also known as Mr. Disk).
