Eznis Airways

Eznis Airways is a newly establshed startup regional airline in Mongolia. A subsidiary of Newcom Group, the airline is headquartered in Ulan Bator, Mongolia, adjacent to the Chinggis Khaan International Airport. Eznis plans to operate scheduled flights to domestic destinations of Mongolia. Eznis has 86 employees including local and expat experts from Australia, Japan & Sweden. Eznis has a maintenance support agreement with GE for the engines. The airline is planning to purchase 2 more planes within 2007.


Eznis operates 2 Saab 340B aircrafts acquired from American Eagle Airlines, based in Fort Worth, Texas.

In 2004, the Newcom Group, a successful private enterprise located in Mongolia, had initiated extensive research and project study on feasibility of starting up new domestic air transport service. Based on the research it has founded Eznis Airways earlier 2006 as its fully owned subsidiary. Number of western companies and aviation experts had been engaged in the project, including famous SH&E Limited [[1]], in order to assist proper preparation. After 18 months of hard work, the Eznis has granted Air Operator Certificate (AOC) No. 11 by Mongolian Civil Aviation Authority (MCAA)[[2]]. Eznis later launched its service on December 6, 2006.

Core members of the startup team were Mr O. Bar-Orshikh, Mr S. Bayarsaikhan, Mr Y. Soronzonbold, Mr T. Otgonbayar and Mrs L. Bayarmaa led by Mr L. Oyunbat, a former CEO of the Newcom Group. After successful completion of startup stage, Mr Arvintsogt Ragchaa, a talented entrepruener and co-founder of Newcom Group has succeeded the Eznis as President & CEO in December 2006. During 2005-2006, Eznis' pilots have been trained at Ansett Training Center in Australia followed by line training supervised by former Japan Air Commuter's (JAC) captains. in July 2006, the Qantas has provided Emergency training for entire crew while Saab Aircraft AB provided line maintenance training for maintenance staff in October 2005. Moreover, crew attended CRM training by Boeing in 2005, Dangerous goods training by IATA in 2005. Both GE & Hamilton provided engine & propeller line maintenance training for Eznis' technicians.

Eznis has full insurance coverage on its aircrafts, spare parts and liabilities provided by AON in London.
