Eyvindur P. Eiríksson

Eyvindur P. Eiríksson is an Icelandic writer born in Hnífsdalur in 1935. He received his B.A. from the University of Iceland in 1964. He received another degree in grammar in 1977. For many years his main profession was teaching, but writing became his main occupation around 1987.
His first book of poetry came out in 1974 and his first novel in 1988. He has worked on television and radio as well as print writing. He won the Halldór Laxness Literary Prize in 1997 for The Land Behind Eternity.
