This article merely redirects to "shelf life." It would be useful to have a treatment of the meaning of "expiration date", hopefully one that points out that the difference between the last day that something is valid or useful, and the first day that something is no lonber valid or useful. The term is often taken to mean either of these dates, which of course are not the same.
