Exophoria

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Exophoria is characterised by outward deviation of the eye usually due to extra-ocular muscle imbalance.

[edit] Causes include

  • refractive errors
  • divergence excess
  • convergence insufficiency

these can be due to nerve, muscle, congenital or mechanical anomalies

unlike exotropia fusion is possible and therefore diplopia is uncommon.
