Hi does anyone know what the last ex cathedra statement was? Luv Cris

Munificentissimus Deus by Pope Pius XII in 1950. This statement formally defined the doctrine of the Assumption of Mary, which had been part of Catholic and Orthodox tradition for many centuries. - Lawrence King 02:22, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

this part of text does not serve a significant purpose. in fact i believe it is only confusing. in the meantime, i've deleted it. change it back, see if i care.
