[edit] Star Trek TNG1.jpg listed for deletion

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Star Trek TNG1.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in its not being deleted. Thank you. —MetsBot 18:45, 9 December 2006 (UTC) I put Image:Star Trek TNG1.jpg up for WP:IFD. It's obsoleted by Image:Star Trek TNG title credit.jpg that is cleaner, smaller size, and under a better/more descriptive name. Cburnett 23:22, 21 Mar 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Reverting

Thanks alot- I had thought that only admins could revert... Shows that I still have much to learn about Wikipedia. (Knowing this makes dealing with vandalism a much more palatable prospect.) --maru 19:31, 4 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Interested in an L.A.-area Wiki meetup?

It appears as though L.A. has never had a Wiki meetup. Would you be interested in attending such an event? If so, checkout User:Eric Shalov/Wikimeetup.

[edit] Interstate 5

Hope you don't mind. I reverted the infobox images for the US Highways in California to reflect the CA US Highway Shield. We've been trying to do this for all infoboxes where CA and Interstate Highways cross a US highway since the outline w/US shield is the official shield in California, not the one the other 49 states use. [edit] Jimbo Wales to Attend San Diego Meetup on October 18 2005

Hello, Jimbo Wales will be in San Diego to attend OOPSLA and has agreed to come by and visit with the San Diego wikipedians. If you are interested, you will find more info on my talk page. Johntex\talk 00:54, 13 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Scientology

Your recent edits of that article state: "hidden truths only revealed.." And I would attempt to communicate with you in this area, if you are able. Scientology is maybe 25 million worlds. Even in the 1950's Hubbard told his view of the Physical Universe. I'm saying, there are confidential items. Call them hidden truths if you think they are truths. But they are not about the nature of the physical universe. He published all of that in the 1950s. For example, in "History of Man" he stated his view of the age of the physical universe, and there are many many other examples of his statements. The OT levels (confidential and if you prefer, hidden from public view) don't have vast secrets of his views but instead are about more or less specific trauma that have happened in the past. Except OT I which isn't about the past really and isn't a secret really, except for it methods. Terryeo 22:26, 12 January 2006 (UTC)

I think you may have me confused with someone else. I was only reverting unexplained blankings. Evil saltine 22:30, 12 January 2006 (UTC)
Okay, perhaps I am mistaken, thanks for the reply and have a nice day. Terryeo 22:39, 12 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Unsure

I'm unsure how to use this Wikipedia comment system so I'll make this short. I'm the one that removed a lot of the ebaumsworld content because it's pure libel and bullshit. If you think that the majority of an articles inside wikipedia for the topic "ebaumsworld" should be about the site ebaumsworldsucks you need to pull your head out of your ass and resign from your position as editor.

It's your obligation to provide fair and unbiased articles, try to live up to that obligation.

[edit] Reverts on Security.

I just wanted to thank you for your kindess in reverting all of the information back that some scalawag had deleted on the page about private security. It is indeed good to know that there are editors out there that give a damn about having more information on a changing subject rather than less. Thanks again! - Captain Jason 04:42, 22 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] SOS

You have been pretty active on the Save Our State article. Would you mind taking a look at my proposal here?--Rockero 22:04, 23 January 2006 (UTC)

Someone is making POV edits. I've already reverted once today, and don't want to get anywhere near the 3RR. Would you mind? Thx.--Rockero 22:22, 30 January 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for your help. I changed your modification. I had been using the title of the article as the title of the external link, which is why that link had "confront the racist" in its title. Problem is, it wasn't an actual "article", (just pictures) and with that title it was begging for some vandalism. Which is why I changed it slightly. We sacrifice some consistency to deter vandalism. Seems like a decent trade-off to me.--Rockero 03:32, 1 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] you just deleted my contribution.

hey, it wasn't an attack page or anything malicious. i was just writing something humorous about a friend of mine and you deleted it. thanks a million. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jiminytoespage9 (talk • contribs) .

[edit] Possible New Article for West New York'o philes

A prominent newspaper editor who worked for papers like the New York Daily Mirror named Philip A. Payne lived in West New York, according to an article in the Jan. 29, 2006 Union City Reporter (which I assume was also printed in the Hudson Reporter's other area papers.) There is no article on him as of now, and I have other article I wish to work on, so as a suggestion, if anyone wants to make a one on him, and you want the article as reference, you can see it in full at: http://img368.imageshack.us/img368/9012/philippaynearticle7hw.jpg. You can also begin a section on Noteworthy Residents for that city's page (as I did for Union City), and place him in there. I'm sending this message to all the Wikipedians that I saw on the History page for the West New York article, so you don't have to respond to me about this. Nightscream 00:12, 1 February 2006 (UTC)

Didn't get to thank you for reverting the attempted block by Cigammagicwizard. I don't really think they know what they're doing. (Pally01 18:31, 2 February 2006 (UTC))

[edit] Thanks!

Thanks for removing the copy vios from List of episodes of Power Rangers. Unfortunately, User:Rick lay95 chose to revert your edit. I've reverted the article back to an earlier version which takes out the copy vios (there may also be more further down, but I'll get to those as I work through the clean-up!) and also removes the entirely POV "Landmark episodes" section and the "Air dates" section which only duplicates info provided in the tables. It does also remove the images which were originally deleted, but see my comment on Rick lay95's talk page - if he wants to add them back in, I think he should do so properly rather than just clicking on revert and then having other editors work to remove the copy vios.

I'm not sure about the number of images being used in this article - the terms of fair use permit a "limited number" of screenshots for the identification and critical commentary of the programme, and I suspect that this article goes beyond a limited number, but for now my priority is to get rid of any remaining copy vios in the article and trying to get Rick lay95 to cooperate!

Thanks again, CLW 08:09, 3 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hi!

I called the people who deleted the pool for hours previously. I didn't mean to say it to you. I understand that you did it by mistake. Please accept my apology!

I am only trying to get a comprimise out of this mess!

[edit] Removing bad alerts from AIV

Would it have been appropriate for me to have removed the requests to admin intervention if I was 100% certain that they were not vandalism (which I was), and were not directed at me, or is that an admin-only task? Thanks! Hipocrite - «Talk» 18:48, 9 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Talk page policy

The page you cited at User talk:EllG73 is not policy. Please don't bully a user with it, as there are better ways to deal with disruptive users that should be saved for when it is truly warranted. - Taxman Talk 05:30, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

  • Wikipedia:Vandalism is policy, and it's listed there (under "Removing warnings"). I would have left it alone if it wasn't for the personal attack. If he had removed the warning, he would have been warned over and over by different people anyway. Evil saltine 05:41, 17 February 2006 (UTC)
  • So it is, but that's a pretty new criterion, and it was being repeatedly applied just because the user was removing comments. Sometimes it's better just to de-escalate instead of adding fuel to the fire. - Taxman Talk 15:42, 17 February 2006 (UTC)

He's asked for three admins to look at the case and make a decision; so I wanted to know if you would like to look at the case. He promised ME he would never vandalize again, I don't like it when people come back on their promises; he deserves a permanent ban. As I said I am going to ask three admins: you, User:Nlu, and User:Antandrus. --Holocron 15:25, 20 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Windup alarm clock.jpg

Hi you did upload on 25 November 2003 this image without an explicit license given and later somebody else did add the GFDL tag to it. As now again somebody else did move it into Commons without giving a proper description with author and such I just want to ask you if the GFDL licensing of that image is ok, so that I can make a proper description in Commons. I also want to assure that in future there are no further questions... Cheers, Arnomane 20:51, 13 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks a lot. I have now improved the description in Commons somewhat see commons:Image:Windup_alarm_clock.jpg(used standard description template and sorted it into a category), so that this image can be found easily in future. Arnomane 14:57, 15 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] VandalProof 1.2 Now Available

After a lenghty, but much-needed Wikibreak, I'm happy to announce that version 1.2 of VandalProof is now available for download! Beyond fixing some of the most obnoxious bugs, like the persistent crash on start-up that many have experienced, version 1.2 also offers a wide variety of new features, including a stub-sorter, a global user whitelist and blacklist, navigational controls, and greater customization. You can find a full list of the new features here. While I believe this release to be a significant improvement over the last, it's nonetheless nowhere near the end of the line for VandalProof. Thanks to Rob Church, I now have an account on test.wikipedia.org with SysOp rights and have already been hard at work incorporating administrative tools into VandalProof, which I plan to make available in the near future. An example of one such SysOp tool that I'm working on incorporating is my simple history merge tool, which simplifies the process of performing history merges from one article into another. Anyway, if you haven't already, I'd encourage you to download and install version 1.2 and take it out for a test-drive. As always, your suggestions for improvement are always appreciated, and I hope that you will find this new version useful. Happy editing! --AmiDaniel (talk) 02:20, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Calling your attention to the Security Guard Page...

Hi again! Since you were kind enough to keep an eye on this page earlier, I wanted you to take a look at it again. [edit] Bonafide.hustla (talk contribs) repeated deletion of warnings

The report regarding Bonafide.hustla (talk · contribs · logs · block user · block log) is not a "npov dispute". Bonafide.hustla (talk contribs) has been repeatedly removing warnings from his user talk page despite repeated warnings and removed his 3RR warnings AFTER the final warning. In the process, Bonafide.hustla has also clearly broken the 3RR on his user talk page. See here for evidence: [1], [2], [3], [4] --RevolverOcelotX 10:02, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
