Hi
You made a change to the information on the Sigiriya page, amending the hight of the rock.
I'd love to know where you got that information, and if it is the hight of the rock itself, or the hight of the top of the rock over the surrounding plain. I have several (conflicting) estimates of the height of the rock, those that identify that they are describing the rock only are around 200M / 600feet. The figure I gave of 180 M is around the middle of the range I have seen. Other values that I have seen closer to the 350M + number that you gave, seem to be the hight of the top of the rock above the plain.
I'd really like definitive information, and if they could be quantified, both numbers. So if you have a good source, point me to it please.--Shoka 20:39, 7 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re:
I found it from the World Heritage List website: whc.unesco.org/

Thanks for the reference. I agree that the figure given on that web page supports the figure of 370M that you added. Unfortunately the two world Heritage reports offered as PDFs from the same site give the height of the rock as 150M in the original submission and 200M in the updated report. So I'm still some way from a definitive answer.--Shoka 22:19, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
