Wikipedia Contributions

I've been reading Wikipedia since 2004, and I am pretty sure that this anonymous edit to Furman University on April 5th, 2004 was my first edit ever to Wikipedia. I joined Wikipedia officially on 9 May 2005, and became an Administrator on October 14, 2005. If you have any Admin-related needs, please leave me a message on my Talk. I have information helpful to me on my Administrator's desk. I have over 5,000 edits to Wikipedia, and also have an account on Meta.

Editing

I have gotten into copy editing pretty heavily since I joined Wikipedia, which has inspired me to spend some time reviewing style, grammar, and punctuation rules that I have forgotten since my days in secondary education. I love nothing better than chewing through prose, leaving clear wording, excellent punctuation, and informative and accurate inter-wiki links in my wake. At least that's my goal.

Projects

Theatre

I'm hoping to make my career in theatre, so I'm working on researching theatre in New York, and also incorporating that into Wikipedia. I founded the following WikiProjects on June 27, 2005:

• WikiProject Off/Off-Off Broadway

Harry Potter

I founded the Harry Potter WikiProject on 2 June 2005.

South Carolina

I also founded the South Carolina WikiProject.

====Carolina Crown==== I marched with Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps for three seasons, and am very proud of the drum corps activity. I've also joined the newly formed Drum Corps WikiProject. My new project has been to finally work on the Crown article, and it's nice to be actually contributing to the encyclopedia's content, as I spend a lot of time just doing Admin stuff (which I do enjoy, but it's nice to do more than just that). My long term project is working on filling in the redlinks on the repertoire listing in the article with new articles. Here's a list of the ones I've started/want to start.

Verification

I'm working on improving Wikipedia's article quality by challenging and removing uncited information in articles. Usually I archive the information to a subpage, such as Article Name/Uncited. A subproject of that is for me to go back and look up citations for the information, but one step at a time.

Deletion

I used to spend a lot of time on the happy fun AfD pages, occasionally voting, adding submissions from NewPage patrol, and closing AfD debates on occasion. Occasionally I investigate sock-puppetry. This one was a real doozy. Recently I have adopted MfD, and have been doing some work maintaining that page and closing debates there.

Misc

This Barnstar is awarded to Evilphoenix by Rogue 9 for standing on principle by blocking Kelly Martin for personal attacks against Mistress Selina Kyle.
