Hiya. Ive just created a new (and better, imo) userbox for soulseek and i thought is share it. you can look at it here. this new box allows you to share your soulseek username in the box itself. also, it adds your userpage to a category called "soulseek users". if you dont like the box but you want to be in the catergory just add [[Category: Soulseek users]]. anyhoo, just thought id let you know. -(chubbstar)^{— talk | contrib | 06:21, 27 July 2006 (UTC)}

[edit] Arrested Development

I couldn't disagree with you more that the airdate order is what matters for the Arrested Development episodes. I attempted to open a discussion in the Talk, but neither you nor anyone else responded there. Instead, you reverted my entire edit, which wiped out many other useful changes in addition to resetting the episode order. It looks as if other people have stepped in to redo the other edits, but it would have saved a lot of people a lot of trouble, and been a lot more helpful for you to just make the intended change instead of reverting a whole significant edit. Better yet, discuss it in the talk page first, because I don't see any consensus anywhere that your view is shared by other editors. adavidw 08:40, 9 December 2006 (UTC)

I noticed you changed Hats off to the Buskers to Hats Off to the Buskers. It was my impression that "off" should not be capitalised according to Wikipedia guidelines. Whichever way I'm not really bothered but you broke the redirect from Hats off to the buskers (which is actually the capitalisation used on the album cover) as redirects don't follow chains. You also did not mark your new redirect as a {{R from other capitalization}}. A quick check of what links here would have shown you this. Fixed it now. Citizensmith 14:00, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

There was a redirect from "Hats off to the buskers" (reached by typing in "hats off to the buskers" - the most common likely typed input) to "Hats off to the Buskers". That then became a redirect to another redirect when you moved the page. Redirects don't follow a second redirect so I had to go back and change the redirect from "Hats off to the buskers" to redirect to the new actual page "Hats Off to the Buskers". Simple enough but always has to be done if you move a page which already has existing redirects. Citizensmith 21:04, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Hi Evanreyes, I saw you had contributed to the list of top hat wearers on the Top hat page a while back (I think last August), so I think you might be interested in a move to delete List of bow tie wearers. That list could be combined with the Bow tie article, but I'm arguing that the list should stay as is. If you have an interest in whether or not that list should stay, please visit the deletion discussion (Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of bow tie wearers) and throw your two cents in. Per Wikipedia:Naming conventions#Album titles and band names, the proper title of this article is Push It To The Limit. Specifically, the policy states:

In band names and titles of songs or albums… Note that short verbs (Is, Are, Do) and pronouns (Me, It, His) are capitalized.House of Scandal 02:08, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

Actually, I believe the proper title of the article *should* be Push It to the Limit. This will have to be taken to WP:RM though. Don't just copy and paste when moving to the correct title. --- RockMFR 02:12, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

A while ago, I made an article called James Brown is Dead. The above link was quoted to me and an administrator moved the article to James Brown Is Dead. From what I read carefully at the above link, your desire to have Push It To The Limit changed to Push It to the Limit was correct and James Brown is Dead shouldn't have been moved. Does that seem right? However, we can't just move the article via cut-and-paste. The history has to be moved too which is a whole adminstrator thing. House of Scandal 02:18, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

In case you weren't aware there are guidelines for naming of TV show articles, these are available at WP:NCTV - specifically "For an article created about a single episode, add the series name in parentheses only if there are other articles by the same name". This has also been the subject of a recent arbitration case, the outcome being that going against the consensus for those naming conventions can result in a short ban. Please avoid making such moves. --pgk 09:33, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

I'm not aware of all the background to the debate on it, so can't give you the arguments as to why the inconsistency is valid. The fact that it got as far as arbitration suggests that it has created a fair amount of bad feeling, so I guess the best thing to do is be careful. It's an unfortunate facet of wikipedia being this large, but in order to keep the peace people willfully ignoring that particular guide are likely to find themselves blocked for short periods. In this case no real harm done, just wanted to make sure you were knew you could find yourself walking into a controversial area. --pgk 10:00, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

There was a long debate that resulted in about an 80% supermajority to disambiguate only when necessary. Some in the minority did not accept this, leading to much acrimony, page move warring, and incivil comments being made. The details are at Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Naming conventions, including the evidence and workshop subpages. Generally over rather minor things like this, it's best to respect the existing consensus even if you don't always agree. Thatcher131 19:00, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

Concerning your recent edits to the article 63rd Golden Globe Awards nominees. I've now reverted yet again your edit, per the exact same reasons as before. Also noting that the format in question is used in the articles for other "main" awards (see, for instance, the 79th Academy Awards, which is a somewhat recently created article).
I asked in my previous revert that if there was any particular reason for this, that it be brought up on the talk page beforehand. Instead, you repeated the edit, with what appears to be an automatic edit summary. Do not revert this again without a previous discussion on the talk page. Thank you. I'm pretty sure the official title has an apostrophe in it, however awkward that look in normal English: Fat Cat official site.
