Evaristo Beccalossi

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Evaristo Beccalossi, genious and unruliness, represents, to this day, one of the classiest and purest Italian left footers of all time. Originally from Brescia, where he also grew up from a soccer standpoint, he became an instant idol of the Inter Milan fans, where he spent the better part of his career, from 1978-79 to 1983-84. He dawned the Inter jeresy in 216 games, scoring 37 goals and winning a Scudetto (1979-80) and a Coppa Italia (1981-82). Becca made with Alessandro Altobelli one of the longest standing, most adored soccer partnerships of Serie A's recent history. Both from Brescia, they were the team's undisputed leaders from the late 1970's to the mid 1980's. Becca's incompatibility with Inter's latest promise, Germany's Hansi Müller, forced "Becca" to move to Sampdoria in the late summer of 1984. It is worth noting that, while Muller's stay at Inter was rather short-lived and lackluster (he left in 1985 when Rummenigge arrived), Becca, to this day, is still one of the fans' all-time favorites, his status raised to that of an icon.
