Evans Rutto

Evans Rutto (born April 8, 1978 in Marakwet District) is a Kenyan athlete who won the 2003 Chicago Marathon with debutant world record time of 2:05:50, the 2004 London Marathon, and the 2004 Chicago Marathon. He took 10th in the 2005 London Marathon.

Prior to the 2003 Chicago Marathon Rutto was an elite runner at the 10k to half-marathon distance.

Rutto is married with three children, Winnie, Dennis, and Dieter (after Coach Dieter Hogen) (as of 2005). His father Kilimo Yano was also a runner, whose personal best at 10,000 m was 29 minutes.
