From a young age he wanted to follow in the family tradition and started working at Interscope Records as an intern when he was 16 years old. Former Interscope Records President Tom Whalley took a chance on him when Bogart turned 18 and promoted him into the A&R department. Under Whalley's supervision, Bogart aided in the coordination of various projects most notably for 2Pac as a project coordinator and hip-hop icon Eminem as an A&R. It also been widely reported that Bogart was responsible for scouting and bringing Eminem into Interscope Records.

By the age of 21, Bogart had moved into management while moonlighting as A&R Consultant for Warner Bros Records. President Tom Whalley, his former Interscope mentor. In his management career, he formed the now defunct BAT Management alongside partners Walt Taylor and Jordan Feldstein. Under BAT Management and in conjunction with other managers Joseph "3H" Weinberger, Justin Trugman and Todd Bird, he was responsible for and/or assisted in the careers of Grammy Award winning icons Maroon 5 then known as Kara's Flowers, Planet Asia, Mystic, Styles Of Beyond and various other artists. Bogart played an intricate role in Maroon 5 signing with Octone Records with Feldstein, who still manages the band for Career Artists Management.

In 2002, Bogart started Casbah Artists Management, a tribute to his deceased father. Under Casbah, Bogart managed former Dreamworks recording artist Vishiss. The Vishiss project was never released due to Dreamworks sale to the Universal Music Group. During the making of the record, however, Bogart was introduced to future collaborator Jonathan "J.R." Rotem, a producer on the record.

In the summer of 2004, Bogart went to work for the Agency for the Performing Arts as eventually an Agent in the Concerts Department. While working at the agency, Bogart and Rotem developed a female R&B trio called Raw Candy. Teamed up with music executive Zach Katz, the three crafted an image and sound for the girls. Bogart was heavily responsible for writing the songs, Rotem for producing and composing the songs and Katz as the business leader.

After failing to garner significant interest for the group, Bogart, Rotem and Katz released the girls from their contract and made deals for the Bogart/Rotem penned compositions for other major label projects, most noteably the worldwide #1 smash-hit "SOS" (also known as "SOS (Rescue Me)") performed by Rihanna. In early 2006 as Bogart's songwriting began to be in more of a demand, he left the Agency to pursue writing full-time with Rotem.

He has written for artists and groups such as Britney Spears, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez, Ashley Tisdale, Mya, Paris Hilton, Jesse McCartney, Hayden Panettiere, Jessi Malay, Nikki Flores, Lalaine, The Veronicas and Christina Milian, among others. He currently resides in Los Angeles where he creates most of his music at Rotem's Chalice Recording Studio.

In 2006, Rotem started his own record label and publishing company, Beluga Heights, along with manager Zach Katz and signed Bogart as the head writer.
