Evan Andriopoulos

Evan Andriopoulos is an ice hockey player. He was born in New London, Connecticut on August 27, 1968, graduated from the East Lyme school system in 1986, attended the University of New Haven (1986) and graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1990. He attended the University of Oslo (Norway) in 1998.

Andriopoulos played youth hockey in the Southeastern Connecticut Youth Hockey League and in summer leagues in Rhode Island (Mt. St. Charles and N. Smithfield) and South Windsor, Connecticut. He played in the SuHL, a semi-pro league in Florida, with the travel team Hollywood Wheels. He played on two Norwegian teams from 1991 and 1996, winning the national championship in 2003. He retired as player in 2004.

Andriopoulos was known as a stay-at-home defenseman who best used his size (6-2 225) in physical matches. He led the Norwegian league with penalty minutes twice (in 1999-2000 and 2000-01). He was an All Star in 1992, 1994, 1995 and 2003. He is currently vice president of FinnStar Hockey, Inc. of Florida.
