The European Republican Movement (Movimento Repubblicani Europei, MRE) of Italy is a small center left liberal party.
It is part of the Olive Tree coalition. The party emerged from a left-wing tendency of the Partito Repubblicano Italiano (PRI), when this old party joined the House of Freedoms. Its leader is Luciana Sbarbati.
MRE elected one MEP in 2004 as part of the Olive Tree ticket. In 2006 ir formed the Olive Tree alliance with the Democrats of the Left and Daisy, that won 220 out of 630 deputies in the 2006 elections.
