European Cup 1972-73

The season 1972-73 of the European Cup football club tournament was won by for the third consecutive time by Ajax in the final against Juventus at the Marakana stadium in Belgrade. This achievement meant that Ajax were awarded the badge of honour, and got to keep the cup permanently meaning another was to be made for the next season.
