Europa postage stamp

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Europa stamps have been issued annually since 1956 by member states of the European Community, then of the European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations (CEPT) in 1958, and of PostEurop since 1993. Initially stamps were a common design in all countries, but since 1974 the designs have a common theme. With the split of posts and telecoms providers in most countries, CEPT no longer exists, but the postal authorities continue the tradition. Stamps have "Europa" written on them somewhere in small print.
