1. A cyclonic tempestuous northeast wind which blows in the Mediterranean. It is the modern Gregalia (Gregale) or Levanter. 2. the name of the wind from the Adriatic Gulf, which wracked Paul of Tarsus's ship on the coast of Malta (Acts 27:14) 3.Referenced in the second chapter of Moby Dick.
