EuroBonus

EuroBonus, is the frequent flyer program of 9 European airlines, was launched by Scandinavian Airlines System (SK) in 1992 . The program enables its 3.2 million members to earn and redeem frequent flyer miles on all of the fully integrated airlines as well as all the Star Alliance members. Furthermore, all customers are able to build status, which gives them access to certain privileges. EuroBonus is free of charge and everybody can sign-up.

- 1992 SAS introduces the EuroBonus program (January 1, 1992)

There are two types of EuroBonus points, Basic and Extra. Both can be exchanged for bonus trips and EuroBonus offers. EuroBonus points are valid for up to five years,

Members earn Basic points with all EuroBonus (not regional airlines) or Star Alliance airlines or each time you stay on eligible rates at: Radisson SAS Hotels & Resorts, Park Inn Hotels (Europe, Middle East & Africa), Country Inn Hotels (Europe, Middle East & Africa), Regent Hotels (Europe, Middle East & Africa), Radisson Edwardian Hotels. Basic points also count towards upgrade to a higher membership level.

Members earn Extra points with all other airline partners (including EuroBonus Regional airlines) and at more than 4700 hotels and at Avis and Hertz car rentals. Residents of the Nordic countries can also earn Extra points on purchases with a cobranded EuroBonus card.

The points that a member receives depends on a number of factors: the actual distance flown, the class of service and the booking class. Its high class of service bonuses make EuroBonus especially attractive to travellers that fly frequently in the Business Class and/or Economy Extra.
