[edit] History

Eumemmerring College opened as the Hallam High School in February 1971, with only 90 students and 5 teachers. In 1990, a second campus of the school was established at Fountain Gate, and the name Eumemmerring was chosen for both campuses (named for the creek draining the area occupied by the school).

[edit] Mission Statement

Eumemmerring Secondary College is a community based on mutual respect and tolerance where all students are actively encouraged to achieve their personal best and where teaching, learning and participation is valued. We will provide a challenging and supportive environment to enable students to confidently take their place in a changing world.

[edit] Administrative Structure

Each campus is run by a 'Campus Principal', assisted by (usually) two 'Assistant Campus Principals'. Each Campus Principal answers to the 'College Principal', who is responsible for the overall running of the college. The College Principal is based at the Hallam Senior Campus. The current College Principal, Brian Burgess, announced his retirement effective at the end of the 2006 school year. A permanent replacement is yet to be announced, and it is likely an Acting Principal will assume his responsibilies until a replacement is found.

[edit] Campuses

The college comprises four campuses; three 'Junior Campuses' which provide Years 7 - 10 (Endeavour Hills, Fountain Gate, Gleneagles); and the Hallam 'Senior Campus', which hosts the college's VCE, VET and VCAL programmes. The college also administers the Myuna Farm Secondary Teaching Unit on behalf of the Department of Education.
