From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
My name is Eugene van der Pijll. You may remember me from such websites as commons.wikipedia.org, nl.wikipedia.org, and fr.wikipedia.org.
Fields of interest are, with articles I wrote or heavily edited:
- history of the Netherlands, especially Golden-Age and earlier: Guelders, Duke of Brabant, Count William II of Holland, Battle of Worringen, John Maurice of Nassau, Count of Holland, Fernando Alvarez de Toledo, Duke of Alva, Hook and Cod wars
- Dutch geography, especially the province of Utrecht: Amersfoort, Bunschoten (see also Wikipedia:WikiProject_Dutch_municipalities, User:Eugene van der Pijll/Lists of Dutch towns).
- other miscellaneous Dutch subjects: Jaap de Hoop Scheffer
and much more in the future, I hope.
I have added some historical statistics about the population of large cities. These come from a 1931 book published by the International Institute of Statistics. See for example History of Berlin, Bremen, Wroclaw, Karlsruhe, Braunschweig (city), Vienna, Antwerp (city).
I have created several reports from a wikipedia database dump:
- Wikipedia:WikiProject Tree of Life/Articles without images
- Wikipedia:WikiProject Missing encyclopedic articles/fr
Contact me if you want me to update these or make more pages like these.
