[edit] History

[edit] The beginning

On April 5, 2004, Eugene made his first appearance on WWE RAW as RAW General Manager Eric Bischoff's "mentally challenged nephew". He was instantly placed with William Regal as a manager. Regal, who had been out of action for months due to heart problems, was made Eugene's manager by GM Bischoff who said that the only way Regal could come back to the RAW brand, since he was not ready to compete, was as a manager.

In the storyline the only reason Eugene, described as being "special", was on RAW was as a favour to Bischoff's sister, who asked, or made, Bischoff do it. Regal was not happy with this, as he felt that he was a "baby-sitter". Regal began putting Eugene through tough training in hopes that Eugene would find wrestling too hard and quit RAW but during the training, Regal finds out Eugene is more than ready for his first match.

On May 10, 2004 Eric Bischoff told William Regal to sabotage Eugene's match so he would lose and quit with embarrassment, but Eugene managed to defeat his first opponent Rob Conway, despite William Regal briefly tripping him from outside the ring, though at this time Regal had began to come round to Eugene and did not want to trip him, but felt he had to do this to keep his chances of getting back onto the active roster.

During the next couple of months the pair became friends, fighting off associates of Bischoff, during this time Eugene became a highly rated star of WWE. This newfound stardom placed both in feuds with highly established stars like Triple H and Evolution.

In October, 2004 William Regal & Eugene began wrestling as a tag team at one point coming close to beating La Resistance for the World Tag Team Championship when, while wrestling in the United Kingdom, William Regal (from the UK) & Eugene won the tag team titles in a match that was then restarted by GM Eric Bischoff. This match was eventually won by La Resistance.

On November 15, 2004, in Indianapolis, Indiana, William Regal & Eugene finally beat La Resistance, while wrestling with Rhyno & Tajiri in a Triple Threat Tag Match to win the titles.

During a title defense at New Year's Revolution on January 9, 2005, William Regal & Eugene defeated Christian & Tyson Tomko, but it was during this match Eugene ruptured his patella tendon after performing a dropkick. This would force Eugene to be out of action for several months.

This injury left Regal to defend the tag team titles by himself, during a house show match against La Resistance and despite being teamed up with (announcer and Bischoff lackey) Jonathan Coachman, La Resistance won their tag team titles back.

[edit] End of the team

With Eugene injured Regal went on to team with another long-time friend, who was formally managed by Regal, Tajiri, This pair also managed to find success as a tag team. Later Regal was traded to SmackDown! as part of the 2005 WWE Draft, effectively ending any chance of the team of Eugene and William Regal wrestling together. Eugene has since made his return to the WWE in the 2006 Royal Rumble.
