The town centre (dark green) and the statistical district (light green) of Werkendam in the municipality of Werkendam.

Werkendam ( 51°49′N, 4°54′E) is a town in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is a part of the municipality of Werkendam, and lies about 6 km west of Gorinchem.

In 2001, the town of Werkendam had 10030 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 2.3 km2, and contained 3466 residences.[1] The statistical area "Werkendam", which also can include the peripheral parts of the village, as well as the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 10470.[2]
