The town centre (dark green) and the statistical district (light green) of Opmeer in the municipality of Opmeer.

Opmeer (52°42′N 4°57′E) is a town in the Dutch province of North Holland. It is a part of the municipality of Opmeer, and lies about 9 km east of Heerhugowaard.

In 2001, the town of Opmeer had 4631 inhabitants. The built-up area of the town was 1.1 km2, and contained 1745 residences.[1] The statistical area "Opmeer", which also can include the peripheral parts of the village, as well as the surrounding countryside, has a population of around 5710.[2]
