Arona is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Novara in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 100 km northeast of Turin and about 35 km north of Novara. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 14,413 and an area of 14.9 km2.[1]

The municipality of Arona contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Dagnente, Mercurago, Montrigiasco, and Campagna.

Arona borders the following municipalities: Angera, Comignago, Dormelletto, Invorio, Meina, Oleggio Castello, Paruzzaro.
