[edit] Extant flying lemurs?
Are the extant flying lemurs linked to in this page the same species/family as those from which primates branched from in the ancient past? I shouldn't think so, but then I have no formal education in this area, nor have I conducted the research. --Gigacannon 20:27, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
- I don't fully understand your wording but I'll try to answer this. According to the best data currently available, the flying lemurs (or colugos) are the closest living relatives to the primates. Primates did not evolve from colugos, but the two share a common ancestor. --Aranae 02:18, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
