Etienne Trudeau

Etienne Trudeau (September 15, 1641 - 1712) was an engagé or indentured servant from France who settled in New France. He was born in Ste Marguerite, La-Rochelle, Aunis to Francois Trudeau (1613-1949) and Catherine Matinier (?-?) and arrived in New France in the 1660s.

Etienne Trudeau married Adrienne Marie Barbier (born August 20, 1652) on January 10, 1667 in Montréal. The Trudeaus had 14 children. He died in Montreal in 1712; Adrienne died in Quebec in 1694.

He is an ancestor of both Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau and American cartoonist Garry Trudeau.
