Ethan Andrew Cambias was a fictional character on the US soap opera All My Children. He has been played by actor James Scott from August 10, 2004 until March 8, 2006. He was originally introduced as Ethan Ramsey, but later decided to go by his biological surname.

Ethan first came to Pine Valley in 2004 hell-bent on claiming his birth right: Cambias Industries. He'd recently learned that he was adopted and that his biological father was the late Alexander Cambias, Jr. His claims were not backed up with hard evidence, however, as the entire Cambias family (including grandfather Alexander Sr. and uncle Michael) were deceased, along with his real mother, Hannah Nichols.

Because of this, he gained many enemies in town, mainly Ryan Lavery, who had befriended Alexander Sr. shortly before his death and was made heir of the Cambias fortune. Ethan became close friends with Lavery's ex, Kendall Hart, and her sister Bianca Montgomery, who was the mother of Ethan's dead cousin, Miranda, the product of Michael Cambias's rape of Bianca. Not long after coming to town, Ethan became the prime suspect when Ryan was the target of attempted murder. If Ryan had died, Ethan would have had a better chance of getting the company that he felt he had rights to. Kendall supported Ethan and after he was deemed innocent, they began a relationship.

What Ethan, and the rest of Pine Valley, didn't know was that Zach Slater, a casino owner from Las Vegas, was really Alexander Cambias Jr, who had faked his death many years ago. When Zach learned that Ethan could have been his son, he performed a secret DNA test which confirmed it. Zach revealed his true identity to the town, but failed to acknowledge Ethan as his son, in order to protect him from the so-called "Cambias curse," which Zach thought would turn Ethan into a greedy, tyrannical businessman, similar to his father and brother.

A rifle was found in Ethan's possession, the kind that was used to shoot Ryan, so the police department held him in custody again. This time, while Ethan was in jail, Zach shot at Ryan and his wife Greenlee Smythe, in order to get Ethan acquitted so he could follow his plans to leave town. Ethan was set free, but he decided to stay in town with Kendall. Zach was frustrated and then tried to get Kendall to break up with Ethan, but his scheme only brought the two lovers closer together.

After Bianca learned that her daughter Miranda was indeed alive, she began to believe that Zach had lied and that Ethan was really his son. A DNA test was performed for Miranda and Ethan and the tests came back positive. Ethan changed his name to Cambias and assumed his position as a member of Cambias Industries. He also planned to destroy Zach for lying to him and keeping him from the fortune, which concerned Kendall, who didn't want any the "Cambias curse" to prove true.

Zach was still determined to free Ethan from the curse and fought to take the company from him. Ethan aligned with Edmund Grey to take Zach down, but after Edmund was mysteriously murdered, Ethan told the police that he saw Zach commit the crime. Ethan swore on his love for Kendall that he saw Zach do it, but deep down, he knew that he was lying. It was revealed by Lily Montgomery that Zach did not kill Edmund, that Jonathan Lavery did, and Kendall was heartbroken. She dumped Ethan and became engaged to Zach to stick it to him.

Ethan pleaded with Kendall to come back to him, and she agreed, under the condition he finally give up Cambias Industries. Ethan refused, and Kendall left again. Realizing the error of his ways, he changed his mind, but it was too late. Zach and Kendall were married and Ethan wrote the both of them off. To fill his time, Ethan began seeing Simone Torres, Kendall's employee at her company, Fusion Cosmetics, which was owned by Cambias. As a pledge of his love for Simone, Ethan gave his shares in Fusion to her, making her an equal party in the business, angering Kendall. In 2006, the Mardi Gras Ball exploded which had Ethan, Simone and Zach trapped in the bottom. Ethan suffered major internal injuries and was taken to the hospital. He died on February 20, 2006 during emergency surgery to stop internal bleeding. His Estate consisted of a genenrous Trust Fund and his shares in Cambias Industries, which Simone (Trust Fund) and Ryan Lavery (Cambias Industries) received.
