Hi, this image also found it's way to Swedish Wikipedia sv:Bild:Gaston Julia.jpg. We wonder what the source is, and if it is copyrighted. Could you help us out? /Habj 8 July 2005 13:14 (UTC)

Did you get an answer? It has now been labelled as lacking source & info on copyright status here at enwiki, which means it is a candidate for speedy deletion. / Habj 12:29, 21 November 2005 (UTC)
I have not received an answer, yet, unfortunately. All I can find is this copyright notice which I found at the page from where I obtained the image. ~ Eszett 03:08, 22 November 2005 (UTC)
OK, thank you for the info! / Habj 10:38, 22 November 2005 (UTC)

Hello! You were listed on the Wikipedia:Wikipedians/Germany page as living in or being associated with Germany. [edit] NY/NJ English

Eszett,

I know your recent edit to NY/NJ English seems to clean things up, but in fact it doesn't. So no offense, but I want to revert it. The reason is that there is no such variety "NY-NJ English". There is a variety called "New York Dialect" which is spoken in the NY metro area (including a small corner of NJ) but New Jersey English doesn't exist. There are a number of dialects spoken in that state, which are pretty well independent of each other. In fact, I would like to split the article, but I don't know how to do it. One part would be on NY Dialect, the variety of English spoken by mostly White people in the metro area. The other would be the varieties of English spoken in NJ. mnewman

I was merely changing the form of the article such that it corresponded to the Wikipedia standard that every article begins with the title of said article in bold. As a resident of New Jersey, I do notice a difference between the dialect between that of my own kindred and those in the north of the state, but I personally do not find it noticeable enough to consider it outside of the general dialect continuum. Perhaps a vote for split would be most germane (do they do these things here, or is that something you can simply go ahead and do?) before you take any action.
It's not that hard to split an article, though: all you need to do is navigate to where you want the new article, say, New Jersey English. Extract all the pertinent content to that article, then move the New York-New Jersey article to New York English. Put up a message on that article to the effect of For New Jersey english, see this article. to clarify those sent by the auto-redirect to that New York English article.
Again, I don't know if Wikipedia policy allows for that so check up on it before you partake in this endeavor. eszetttalk 08:39, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Tigger

I don't think Tigger is a narcissist. Do you really think he is? Powers T 15:27, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

Well based on what I remember from the story and the fact that he has "quite an ego", not to mention he references himself often, makes me believe that he's a bit full of himself. Perhaps not a narcissist, but something to that effect. eszetttalk 19:55, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
Well I was going on the description at Category:Fictional narcissists. He does believe he's special and unique, and he sometimes has a bit of arrogance, but I don't think he really lacks empathy, takes advantage of others, or requires excessive admiration. Powers T 18:27, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
Sonic the Hedgehog (character) doesn't lack empathy either, but he's still in the category. Perhaps editing that to say that the listed characters display "some or all of the traits" or otherwise renovating the category to fit this specification, which would remove Tigger and Sonic, among others. eszetttalk 18:36, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
