Eston Hemings is one of Sally Hemings' several children. Proponents of the theory that Thomas Jefferson fathered one or several of Sally's children suggest that, if he sired any of them, Eston is the one most likely fathered by him, as he has the Jefferson Y chromosome. Since some relatives of Jefferson also had the chromosome, it has also been suggested that Randolph Jefferson, Thomas' younger brother, fathered Eston and/or other Hemings children. In his later years, he changed his name to Eston Jefferson.
