Ester gum or glycerol ester of wood rosin is a food additive used as a stabilizer to keep oils in suspension in water. It is derived from rosin combined with glycerol. it is also found in gatorade. More information is available here http://www.inchem.org/documents/jecfa/jecmono/v35je05.htm
