Estadio Universitario

The Estadio Universitario de Nuevo León – nicknamed El Volcán ("the volcano") – is a stadium property of the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, located in its premises in the Monterrey metropolitan area, in the municipality of San Nicolás de los Garza, Nuevo León, Mexico.
The stadium is home venue of the UANL Tigres.
This Stadium hosted several matches of the Football World Cup 1986. It has also hosted matches of the Copa Libertadores de América in 2005, and in 2006, as Tigres has qualified to the prestigious tournament on these years, and played home in this stadium. It was also, for a short period, the home venue for the Rayados de Monterrey.
The stadium has also hosted several concerts, including, Queen, Roger Waters, and The Rolling Stones, in their A Bigger Bang World Tour, the band's first ever appearance in Monterrey, in March 1, 2006.
The stadium's cost was $26 million pesos. It was completed in 1967. At that time, it had a capacity for about 46,000 spectators, but after the Football World Cup 1986, the recognized capacity is 52,000.
The Wave was introduced into football during the 1986 World Cup in this stadium.
