Name a major sport in the United States that does not play the National Anthem before a game.

I've never been to one in my life. Of course, I'm not a huge sports fan actually, but any major sports leauge/team that decided to stop playing the national anthem before games in the United States would be facing boycotts and a ton of bad publicity.

NPOV doesn't nessicarly mean that every single fact in the entire encyclopedia has to have the words "might" "usually" "most" and "mostly" qualifying every single statement, does it? --NERD42  EMAIL  TALK  H2G2  UNCYC  NEWS  21:14, 7 January 2006 (UTC)

Some play "America the Beautiful" or "God bless America" instead. In Canada, "Oh Canada" is sometimes played without the "Star Spangeled Banner" if its only involving Canadian teams. Nick Dillinger 05:58, 8 January 2006 (UTC)

Ah-hem, the article said, "In the United States." Those other songs might also be mentioned, or link to some article on patriotic music (for both the US and Canada, if canadians play american football) --   NERD42    EMAIL  TALK  H2G2  UNCYC  NEWS  18:12, 9 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] stuff taken out of the "see also"

I thought this was relevent because people who came to this page would probably be looking for it.

[edit] Stadium anthems not included on the album

It was under "See Also" ... oh well. --NERD42  EMAIL  TALK  H2G2  UNCYC  NEWS  21:51, 21 July 2006 (UTC)
