[edit] Ideology

There exist other political parties of similar ideology such as FE-La Falange, Fuerza Nueva, Arbil, Democracia Nacional (a splinter group from España 2000) and the more moderate national Catholic Partido Demócrata Español. España 2000 advocates conservatism centering around the defense of the traditional family, tighter control of Spanish borders to prevent illegal immigration, more investment in the police and military, priority for native Spaniards to gain access to jobs, and the immediate expulsion of illegal immigrants. They also endorse values set forth by the Vatican.

The party also opposes the existence of autonomous governments in Catalonia and the Basque region, preferring a centralized Spanish government.

The party defines itself as socially and democratically populist.

[edit] Leadership

Its leaders are José Luis Roberto (lawyer and Secretary General of the National Association of Businessmen of Locales of Alterne (ANELA in Spanish)) and Salvador Gamborino.

[edit] Controversy in extreme right wing circles

The main political target of España 2000 is the far right wing spectrum of the population, with emphasis on anti-inmigration and anti-separatist politics. However, other extreme right wing parties have been critical of España 2000 mainly because of the ties it's leader José Luis Roberto, has with prostitution business, and point out that he opposes illegal inmigration but brings women from Eastern Europe to have them work in his brothels.

Alianza Nacional, a self described National Socialist party, while sharing many of the beliefs and target population of España 2000, has asked their supporters not to collaborate with this party, as they look down on the relationships it has with prostitution.

Spanish nazi skinheads usually joke about España 2000 calling them "Puteros 2000" (a "putero" is someone who usually requires the services of prostitutes) or "ANELA 2000" (a reference to Jose Luis Roberto's relationship with the national association of Spanish pimps).
