ESLARED

ESLARED, or the Fundación Escuela Latinoamericana de Redes, is a Venezuela-based organisation that trains computer engineers in the design, installation, management and administration of academic computer networks.

It is located in Mérida in Venezuela and is credited with having provided high-level training in information and communication technologies to build techies in diverse professions, since 1992.

It is known for organising a mega-training event called the WALC. This draws on highly-qualified instructors from Latin America, North America and Europe.

ESLARED members have also been credited with playing a crucial role in building the wireless broadband data communication network that linked-up the region of Mérida since 1998.
