Wow! Great to have this data. Haukur 08:38, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
I surveyed 1,000 some months before and my numbers looked a little worse. In particular I found a striking number of images which were tagged as free content which probably weren't. Perhaps the move things are improving because I didn't find quite so many tagged as fair use either. With over 400k images on En alone, a sample of 100 isn't much. Thanks for the work, though.--Gmaxwell 12:40, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, I don't have the technical expertise to automate any of this, so the sample was done by hand. At least we're having different problems now than before... (ESkog)(Talk) 19:08, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Rationale Question
- I'm at a loss as to what to enter as a rationale in addition to the tags on my pages. I've only uploaded bookcovers (e.g., Image:DanseMacabreUK2006.jpg), and I can't think of anything to say that's not already in the book template. Am I really required to type in the same stuff that's already in the book template box? TheronJ 18:57, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
- From the page regarding fair use: each fair use must be explained and a rationale must be established for that specific use. Your rationale may be pretty similar to what's already in the box, but that is only a general starting point which states Wikipedia's current opinion of the use. - Thanks - is there a way to search the image space for pages that I've created? TheronJ 19:14, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
- Click on the My Contributions link which, if you haven't changed your skin or css, is in the top right hand of the screen, and then use the drop down menu to sort for the image namespace. Steve block Talk 18:56, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
